    I fixed it by the idea of flipping the cables over. I did not have a wire extracter so it took long time . Your video helped get the z axis steppers to syn with each other. Thanks!

    Thats amazing, logical and simple, just use the stepper as an generator to identify the coils connected :-) But you need to think about... Sometimes it could be as easy as greatly explained again. Thank you so much., really like the way how your explainig the right things...

    I have the issue like this where the motor spins in the opposite direction. The new motor moves in opposite direction with the cable that came with the new motor. The motor grinds with the cable that came with this z-axis 3d printer. I am not familiar with the Marlin software. You have more advise?😊

    Great video, one question if you do not mind, what are the risk to connect 2 steppers to 1 driver using ramps 1.4?
    thx you

      The RAMPS 1.4 is designed to take two Nema17 stepper motors in the z axis. So should be none. Been printing on RAMPS for years without an issue. Just remember to tune stepper driver board for all your axi.

    does it matter if i switch up 2 wires belonging to the same pair (for example 2B and 2A)? it's ac, so it shouldn't matter, right?

      Try and see. Let me know what you find.

    does it matter which wire is 1 and 2. or which one is a or b? is there a way to tell or it is not useful to us?

    • @EdwardBraiman

      Think about it in terms of magnetic fields. The video is more about process then physics.

      Check datasheet and compare to know working one with four wires.

    I have a pinout which describes them as a+ a- b+ b- which corresponds to 1a 1b ect? is b - then?

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  3 года назад

      The easy way to check is with the LED.

      @@EdwardBraiman what voltage/specs is the led? 12v?

    • @EdwardBraiman

      Don't remember, but it's just a method to check alignment of wiring.
