The boots thing made me laugh, my dad did 22 years , down the road was a German parachute regiment camp , most of the blokes acquired super comfy quality German para boots
Sadly the older original stitched welt version are impossible to find. Screw on Itshide soled RM high leg combat boots weren't so pliable or easy to break in however!!
@@phillhodges5237 Aye, and they're still sold as German Para boots on all the surplus sites: I've got a pair that I use at work (wish I'd had a pair back when I was in a green suit...way better than the combat highs we were issued): I could walk all day in them.
the 1999 series Battle Stripes (about Brecon) featured an extremely odious CSM. . .was wondering if that was the same guy that Simon leak saw years later on Selection
Personally I thought the combat highs was harder wearing/tougher than the assult boots, but the assult boots was a bit more easy on the feet and less of an ankle swister. Pity they wore out quicker, which ain't what you need when in the field for prolonged periods.

Another insight of the professional soldiers in the regiment
Simon’s insight into working with natives was fascinating. Challenge to the western mind and makes you realise there’s many ways of looking at life

German para boots are tops so comfy and top quality I can vouch for that.😊

There is no such thing as German Para boots, they are actually standard issue Bundeswehr boots That the whole German Army wore.
@@mikechedzoy4866 give me a break mate , I was 13 years old
