      @@rondaallen7211 I'm sure you're right about backstabbing on the internet, especially on social media. I've never had it happen to me though. I have had friends backstab me in person, not on the internet, but never online I'm not sure what you mean. How does a friend backstab you on the internet? Do you mean like, talking shit about you or something?

      @John Wayne According to him it wasn't much of a choice. His initial intention was to become a doctor, but at some point his father had to step down from the life, and Michael had to join in his place (or something along those lines). He had to step up on behalf of his family.

    • @FC-bf8fb
      @FC-bf8fb 4 года назад +18

      @John Wayne A complicated decision to make, like whether or not to join the mafia, won't make "real sense" with a short, vague explanation coming from me. Michael himself explains in various videos the circumstances that compelled him to join. If I remember correctly one of the main reasons was to essentially protect his father's life.

      After WW2, the Mafia had great leaders such as Carlos Gambino. Compared, Gotti, like Trump, overplayed his hand. By 'great', I mean business skills rather than thugery. But the Mafia is the past and the Latin American cartels the present and future because Hispanics have a large street presence and the USA's thinks it can win the Drug War like it won in Vietnam and Afghanistan.
      I like Michael Franzese because he is an adept student of Power yet also a 'peacier' rather than warrior- a consigliari. Unfortunately, the Mafia mostly has lost these and became stuck with dumb psychotics...

Between the mayors of big cities like Chicago and the president, it's a circus, and nothing works right. The streets are a mess and community organizers and their little armies are the muscle, while cops stand by with their hands in their pockets. Hi Mike , Umberto from Italy here. I was literally fascinated from this sit down and the moral behind Jerry’s story
    What you depicted it a true life lesson.
    Never ever be disrespectful, try avoiding unnecessary arguments you may trigger something bigger then you.
    I was born in the 60’s in a big industrial town in Norther Italy and in those days mafia started to develop its business
    We were kids and it was inevitable to confront at times with gangs.
    The first lesson we were told was exactly what you told Jerry. Keep low profile, If someone provokes you, bite your tongue and get away before you finds yourself in big trouble.
    Great life lesson Mike

      He was in no way shape or form permitted to retire. It just so happens he has outlived them all or they are in prison serving life sentences.

      The reason he lives now, I suspect, is because he's pretty high profile, "not worth the heat" so to speak.

      Your comment cements exactly why the Mafia are all slime. They betray and kill their own so called loyal members. They are low life criminals nothing more and certainly not to be admired. They steal from the common man and rule through fear and violence. THEY ARE ALL SCUM

    To sit and listen, and to hear the way things were in the mafia, from someone that was there, is truly eye-opening. My father was a decorated policeman, and the reason he left the police force, is because of all the corruption. He was one of the few, honest cops. Three years after he left, the whole force that he was part of, went down and all went to jail. I would rather trust the word of a made guy, than a man in a uniform with a badge, that is corrupt. Keep the stories coming, Michael, they really do give us a grand insight in to that life! Cheers mate from Australia

    After they lowered Paul from a wall to save his life, I'm sure the people who helped him had to lie as to Paul's whereabouts. You're absolutely right. Sometimes we have to lie to protect someone. And, it brought a tear to my eyes when you shared that you're a Christian. All I could say was praise God!!!
