2500 Years Back a Princess Washed Ashore Here.The Temple Built in Her Name

Kirinda in the south of Sri Lanka, is not on your regular tourist sightseeing list. However, for me it's a must if I am "Downsouth", as the native Sri Lankans say.
Kirinda is an Ancient Temple that stands on a massive rock formation overlooking the Indian Ocean. The official name of the Temple is the Vihara Maha Devi Raja Maha Viharaya. Taking it's name/ title from the Queen who was washed ashore here - Vihara Maha Devi. And the title bestowed on the Temple - Raja Maha, meaning essential a Main Royal location. And Viharaya, which translates to Temple. So the Vihara Maha Devi Main Royal Temple.

50+ years. That’s how long I've been around, looking for that one thing to bring a sense of calm. I’m Nishan, and starting this channel I realised experiences & travel is what energises me! Until recently I lived solely for work. A recent fight with severe stress made me see I want to spend my life experiencing what is around me and sharing with others, providing a spark for others to experience this place we live in!
At 53 years in 2022, I’ve been to many places and tried many things, but I see that I’ve allowed the experiences fade in my mind. I want to re-experience and experience newly traveling around the world, eating, mixing locally as much as I can. I want to experience; whether that be swimming, scuba, trekking or anything else🙂
