eric & kayleena, i have been looking forward to this, & it is so worth the wait! & with melissa's tooling, it does not get any better!!!! just amazing all around!
I stumbled on to your channel last week and was inspired! I ordered the basic necessities and I made my first card holder last night! I look forward to making this purse in the future.
Such a beautiful design with lots of customization options, thank you for walking us through the construction. Bravo Kayleena! Dadhands tooling is amazing!
Awesome movie!!!!!!! Really enjoyed the quantity and quality of this longer form. Those panels by Turbo are so freakin cool love you DadHands. Gives me the confidence to have a go at bags now. Thanks for the pattern and well done Kayleena it’s a peach. ❤️❤️❤️
I just watched the video and bought the pattern. I may add a longer strap so it can be used as a crossbody and add a strap and snap for a closure. I can’t wait to get one made.
Small tip, instead of pencil use a Pilot Frixion pen. You can press much lighter than a pencil preventing creasing of the leather and if the mark is visible heat it with your lighter and it disappears.
Great Collab , great work from both aspects of the piece. seeing this stuff explained so easily just inspires to try it , I know what my next project will be. Keep the great work coming👍
You guys are amazing so AMAZING I’ve never made anything leather it’s not the cheapest hobby to get into also it’s a little confusing to figure out the names of the materials like the glues, paints, strings, and tools. I’ve been watching all your videos as I have recently got two new Weenie pups and can’t find the right fits for harnesses and have been thinking about trying to make them myself. I watch you’re 101 video and loved it. So much good information, I love how you take the time to explain stuff. Thank you for all the hard work you do I really have been enjoying these videos. PS I hope your panic gets better I also struggle with anxiety/ panic and it is not fun brother. Much love brother, keep on crafting 🌈💖💕
This looks so good, waiting for the leather I want to get back in stock so I can try making this! It would be really great if sizes for hardware and leather weights are listed in the description or mentioned in the video (leather weight mentioned but not hardware I think), I was trying for a while to figure out which size rivets you used and I'm still not entirely sure 😥It's just quite a bit uncertain as a beginner to be confident about leather weights and other sizes that aren't mentioned in the pattern.
I have a Frye bag that has a wide opening like this one, and they add strips of leather to each side of the zipper then sew it in. So there isn’t any pulling in on the top. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the video and updated video for zipper install. I bought the pattern pack and have made all the templates, I also scaled it down by 25% to make purses for my granddaughters which worked perfectly. A comment/question: your example in this video showed that you added a trim/border around the tooled side panels. I will be using a floral sheep skin with a veg-tan liner for my panels. The gusset interface will hide the sheepskin border except for the top edge. What is the best way to finish that top edge? BTW: The method you show for punching the holes in the gusset only works for round or diamond holes. If you are using an awl, pricking iron or punch for saddle stitching (diagonal slits), then the gusset would have to be punched from the back or you have to have both right hand and left hand pricking irons. I learned this the hard way when making a computer bag/brief.
I too am waiting for the fastener on this one. I have no interest in making it myself, but I would love it once someone figures out the closure but with a cross crossbody strap.
Yes, this is what I've been waiting for! Update bought it... hmmm, we'll see but for ten bucks I guess I would have expected ... more. Gotta say though the video more than makes up for it.
What thickness leather would you recommend using for this bag? Could you just tool straight onto the main bag or would you always recommend tooling onto a separate piece of leather and stitching it onto the main bag?
Hi! Its very nice vudeo and very clear explanatoon by step. You working with leather veey proffessional. Also, I have a quesstion...What is the name of black pieces of material you gluing inside of bag after puted legs ???
I have a question, with the double seam strap piece, could you fold it the other way so it pushes the side panels of the bag outwards rather than the gusset framing the side panels?
Hi, first: thx for all the vids and work here in RUclips! It’s realy inspiring, informative and motivating. But i‘ve got one question: What program do you use to create the pattern?
I watched your channel for a long time now, and appreciate all the things you've shown us. But I have to really crank up the volume each time to hear you. I dunno, maybe it's just me. Anyway, thank-you and look forward to your next video.👍
When you have a long stitch line like you did on this bag do you split it up into multiple threads with multiple back stitches or do you just do one long thread?
Hey, can you do a video on how to fix different problems, like leather warping after dying, mild abrasions on presentation surface, mis aligned punches, tear-outs, water spots on your dye job.
Cool collab! Love that you've partnered with and promoted a woman leather worker as they don't usually get the shout outs they deserve. Great project/design, Kayleena!
how did you make the border around the front and back panels? You say the design is suitable for a beginner but you didn't explain this part !Also, it would be nice if you had added the stitch holes to the pattern.
If you guys have one (or can get one) I’d love to see a review of the BG Manual Leather Splitter & Skiving Machine like you did with their rivet/snap setter. I’m not seeing any reviews or videos on it anywhere online and would like to know how it stacks up compared to say, a CS Osborne #86
I believe he's using a saddle stitching technique, probably using .8 mm Ritza thread, punching out the holes using 5 mm Weaver Leather Supply diamond punches.👍
Yeah I'm curious as to the thickness of all of the leather pieces. It's not in the pattern, video or description. Just the strap and the straps around the edges. 3oz is pretty light to tool, so I'm assuming a 5oz maybe?
I’d like to buy the pattern, but your website says it’s for 8.5” x 11” paper. Do you know if it will print ok on A4 paper? I’m in Europe and it’s difficult to find 8.5” x 11” paper here.
Hello all, the pattern has not a good quality, there are no stiching line and/or stiching holes, for me - not a good idea, because i use one hole puncher with 1,5 mm hole.
What a dream collab!!! Thank you for including my work in this gorgeous bag! I can't wait to start using this brilliant pattern!
Soooo good! That bag design is just perfect and it compliments the beautiful art SO well! Well done to all the artisans involved!
Dad hands is amazing.
You guys both are huge inspirations.
You are an excellent instructor. I appreciate how you talk about the material and the handling it can take - not to be afraid of bending it, etc.
Brilliant design well executed, thanks for the video.

Welcome. Save all your aluminum beer cans to pay for new tools!! It’s addictive as you probably already know!
Such a beautiful design with lots of customization options, thank you for walking us through the construction. Bravo Kayleena! Dadhands tooling is amazing!

Love the design! What’s the best way I can add a zipper to this?
I saw the thumbnail and knew this was Kaleena's design. I love her style!
I love your passion for this! Can’t wait to make this pattern. (3 months into learning the craft)
What a great pattern + walkthrough. Love it!
Small tip, instead of pencil use a Pilot Frixion pen. You can press much lighter than a pencil preventing creasing of the leather and if the mark is visible heat it with your lighter and it disappears.
I love this bag! Can't wait to give it a try. As always, great tutorial video. It is much appreciated for newer leather workers like myself!
The bag is epic!
That is so cool. Dad hands hit the tooling/ colors out of the park. Super cool colab. Who would you collar with next if you could pick anyone?
OMGosh😍 those bags are nice. Thanks for sharing. 🙋🏻♀️
I just watched Dadhands video. Wonderful job. Very talented. I subscribed to keep watching her work.
Great Collab , great work from both aspects of the piece. seeing this stuff explained so easily just inspires to try it , I know what my next project will be. Keep the great work coming👍
Awesome finish! Looks amazing
Awesome work as usual!
Прекрасная идея, так же необычно, и самобытно! Класс 👍

Hey. I am a beginner and I really love your content and was hoping maybe you could post something on how to draft designs. Thanks.
This looks so good, waiting for the leather I want to get back in stock so I can try making this!

These are amazing!!!
This is great design
Wonderful project! So many ways to go.
Thanks Eric!
Beautiful bag and Great video!! Suggestions on closures would be awesome
Looks fantastic, could you show how to do the binding?

Always great projects! 👏👏

Hello, what is the bag stiffener called?? Where can I get it??
Yes, this is what I've been waiting for!
Update bought it... hmmm, we'll see but for ten bucks I guess I would have expected ... more.
Gotta say though the video more than makes up for it.
great video guys love it

Wooow I like hand made I wanna try ❤️❤️❤️❤️

What is the reinforcement you are using and where can I find it?
Thanks, Deb
Nice job
This is great
❤ gracias por tus enseñansas dios bendiga tu arte.

i am so use to seeing saddle stitching. what type is this and why dont you use saddle stiching
Do you think a button could be added to be able to close it?
Wow that’s fantastic!
Do you have online course for this? Where can i get this pattern?
I want to learn to make them. :)))
For the strap -- it is one piece of leather ? If so did you use something on the inside to make is smooth so it will not snag clothing.
When you have a long stitch line like you did on this bag do you split it up into multiple threads with multiple back stitches or do you just do one long thread?
Hey, can you do a video on how to fix different problems, like leather warping after dying, mild abrasions on presentation surface, mis aligned punches, tear-outs, water spots on your dye job.
do you sell the sticky back material? or if you don't mind, where can i get it? thanks
That bag design really is beautiful. So happy to have your videos pop up, always inspirational
Love it
What glue you used. It stick together very wel
, and I have a question... you didn't give any polishing nor applied anything to the leather once the bag was finished ?
when attaching the gusset to the side panels, would it be possible to punch the holes first then stitch the pieces together?
I have been having issues with the buckle guy feet. The disc on the rivet side keeps breaking off every time I try to hammer set them.
Hi! What’s the name of your fabric backing? Is soft felt fabric with 1mm thickness okay?
If you guys have one (or can get one) I’d love to see a review of the BG Manual Leather Splitter & Skiving Machine like you did with their rivet/snap setter. I’m not seeing any reviews or videos on it anywhere online and would like to know how it stacks up compared to say, a CS Osborne #86
Hey brother how are you doing that French Seam on the bottom of that other bag?
Do you just stitch it to a piece of leather on the inside ?
The pattern design is great. needs a zipper or two closing button
Hola, tu qué me recomiendas para la medida de la pieza que forra todo el contorno de los laterales?
What type of stitching are you using in this project on the first gusset?
I believe he's using a saddle stitching technique, probably using .8 mm Ritza thread, punching out the holes using 5 mm Weaver Leather Supply diamond punches.👍
Does the 3/4 inch strip have to be 2 to 3 oz?
nice
did the rivet handsetter come from the buckleguy?
what color dyes where used for the art engravings
I’m having some trouble downloading the pattern for this :-( I couldn’t get the files to open said they were corrupted?
may i know what is the thickness/weight of the front/aback leather
Yeah I'm curious as to the thickness of all of the leather pieces.
It's not in the pattern, video or description. Just the strap and the straps around the edges.

it will!
@@Corter Thank you! ❤️
Muy bueno 👌
I'm hungry, I saw baguette and clicked 😅
Where did you find those feet for the bag?
Please make the expensive version and film it
Handle Eric makes is 27 inches
Is the hair in the tape gonna be part of the 600k giveaway?
Strap size?
Nice. Just design a tab closure
Çok güzel
😍😍😍
😍😍
I see no bread here I’m so confused
I feel like you were originally Wilson from Home Improvement. But we never even see the top half of your face.
Hello all, the pattern has not a good quality, there are no stiching line and/or stiching holes, for me - not a good idea, because i use one hole puncher with 1,5 mm hole.
This is great design
I have one question about the pattern. When cutting out the front and back panels, do I cut the outer line or the inner line?
