I’m sure this unit is no longer available, which is kind of a bummer because it represented a sub-1kw, very small, 4-stroke, 120v electricity solution that is efficient on fuel for supplementing panels on days that conditions are poor. I don’t think that a 4-stroke inverter style gen this compact is available currently. There are the two-stroke models, and they are also quite compact, however they do not contain the three-phase ac head winding, rectified to dc, to then be inverted to clean 120v60hz. They also sound like angry hedge trimmers, and have the disadvantage of not being able to run in a high enough rpm range that optimizes engine efficiency for 2-stroke. Hopefully some company will release a product with similar specs to this model. It actually seems quite simple, and yet, very ideal, as a portable supplemental battery charging solution.
I am in 100% agreement. I struggle to understand why this segment was left wide open with no one filling it with a solution. I wonder if briefcase solar panel sales have chipped away at the market for a small gen like this one, so much so that it no longer is viable. I'm thankful to have one. I hope it lasts for years to come.
Looks like a great little gen. One trick would to be to make a 3 sided plywood wall ( 2x2x2) to sit around the gen to block the noise and direct it in the direction you want. Saw that trick at the race track
It will quite effortlessly. However they stopped making this unit and I dont see anything that runs on propane like it on the market today. If you find something similar, let me know :)
I simply plugged the camper into it and it charged the battery. But yes you could use a battery buddy/battery tender but I think those tend to be trickle chargers and would take a long time to charge your battery. If you want to charge the battery with a small generator like this one look for a battery charger that is closer to 10 amps. But for many campers, as long as you plug into shore power, your battery will charge.
@@michaelputelli8640 I dont know why they stopped making these, but they seemed to have vanished. I havent seen anything like it since but this thing was the right size, the right price and the right noise.
That would be nice but it’s not enough. This is better for recharging batteries and running lights and a fan. You’d want about a 3000 watt to run your ac and allow for a few other things 👍
So Ryobi quit making it and then this replaced it… exact same unit with a diff brand name. And now this one is no longer available. A shame because it’s a great form.

Looks like you are all set for adventures in camping! Hope it's a good season for you! 😀

That’s a cool idea 👍
Run this on a mat or piece of plywood to keep some dirt out of the engine intake. Happy Trails!
Great tip :)
Will this run a projector and a sound bar for a movie night while camping

I am very interested in buying one of these but they are out of stock. Amazing video!
Thank you 🙏 I hope you can find one soon.
Do you need a battery buddy with this kind of charging? Or just kill it at a certain voltage?

@@sstressfl ok awesome! Do they make anything like this anywhere anymore?

Super cool, thanks for sharing! How did the van do with the new tongue weight?
Surprising it didn’t seem to notice. But we didn’t load it up as usual either. That helps a lot :)
I cant find this anywhere. Are they going to restock this item?
I wonder if they’ll come back in the spring/summer.
Will it run the AC on a pop up ?

Does it have a drain plug for oil changes?
You tilt it and drain it out the fill hole 👍 typical small engine!
Discontinued due to fail rate. No customer service. Had to give mine to Goodwill.
So far mine is still running! 🙏👍
I have the Ryobi that THIS was copied off of by China. Hopefully the quality is almost as good, or as good, as my Ryobi! Mine is still working great!

Is it clean in site?
What do you mean?
