Im irish, i live in Ireland, an island, and we still can't stop an unprecedented invasion of immigrants, 20% of our population in a decade and more and more undocumented arrive daily. @@danetterc, I usually support some policies of an 👩💼 administration and don’t agree with some others. It’s the nature of politics. The remain in Mexico, deportations, border barriers of the last administration were effective deterrents and reduced the number of migrant crossings to a manageable level. The current administration sold the wall material at rock bottom prices and laid material in the dirt to rust, reversed the remain in Mexico policy, instructed border patrol to open up the wall and take down barriers and sued border states each and every time they try to reduce illegal immigration. Border states cannot handle over 6 million people coming over illegally. It’s chaos and a humanitarian crisis. The cartels control our southern border. If the administration is not going to prevent the mass influx, they should allow the border states to do what they can to protect their borders. The latest plan is to let an additional 1.5 million people into the country illegally. If non border states have the resources, they should step up and volunteer to take in additional 1.5 million people and more of the migrants already in the country.
MAGAs have been complaining for 3 years about Biden executive orders ... now, rather than get behind bi-partisan deal ... MAGAs are objecting increasing border security as that and racism is their only platform

My wife immigrated back in 2016 from Ukraine. She worked hard, learned the language, adopted our culture and way of life, and is successful at her work. She was fully naturalized in 2022, and was asked to sing the national anthem at her ceremony. She did everything the right way without begging for handouts, even though she came from a country where she would actually qualify for asylum. To people like her, this whole system of letting people flood in is a disgusting slap in the face.
I'm glad she's here, and became an American! I had a Ukrainian woman taking care of my wife, and she was amazing. Her husband was disabled, and she paid all their bills, and paid off their home. She works 80+ hours a week at over 70 years old. She refused extra pay for being so outstanding for everything she did. She's an angel in every way. She definitely made me love Ukrainians. I met another woman from there, and she just wanted to pray for people, and had nothing but kindness to share with all around her, as well as her good values. What a great influence for Americans! God bless your wife and yourself!

It's not enough to speed up the asylum decisions. The people must be held until the decision is made and immediately removed if it is ruled that they do not qualify for asylum. And no Anchor Babies allowed!
No, they should be turned away or deported ASAP, and instructed on how to come here legally. 99% of those coming through the border do not qualify for asylum, they should never have been released into the interior of our country and the last thing that should be down is rewarding them with an accelerated path to citizenship.
