I purchased this set of brake caliper tools since I had been doing brake jobs since I was a kid. I could not figure why it was not compressing the caliper on my 2016 Ford Escape. You just showed me how to get the plate on the tool after over an hour of trying it myself. Thank you.
I bought one of the cheap dice looking tools that fit on your socket...of course iut of 6 options, nine fit. I took my file, shaved a set down...that worked.

borrowed the tool set from advanced auto parts,,,,worked like a charm, thanx for the info, definitely a time saver
Your definition of inexpensive is out of bounds. I'm not running a garage, I'm just doing this one time every couple of years.

None fit till I shaved some down. Hate spell check
both sides clockwise?
Both side clock wise ???
Funny my 2013 ford escape with advanced 4 wheel drive did not have this type of piston unused a c clamp with the old pad to push it in.
Where did you get that tool set?
So its not necessary to open the brake line? I always thought you had to open it. Certainly dont mind if i dont have too
You should never have to crack the bleeder. You're unnecessarily introducing air into the system.
@@AraceaeFanatics I guess I was thinking the backward pressure could be troublesome. But I did the job and had no problems so I guess it's fine
Open the resivior
You didn't mention anything about, indexing the piston face, for the brake pad back pin..
