Same here in Australia, sold out very quickly. I purchased it online but was waiting for it to be made available. Cost $999 in Australia. If I had waited a few hours I would of missed out. This watch will be worth a lot in the future, for sure. A must timepiece for any Casio fanboy.
in the UK it was sold out within 3 minutes and I think the same on the French website. Amazing really.
I just received an email from Casio that pre-order was available to buy this watch (today being the 15th of March) I am in Australia as well.
@@96libertytt oh that is interesting as I think you could pre-order in Italy and it was offered with a Casio watch stand and this offer was made in January so your email is very late I suppose.
Well , from the other Aussie poster above, it appears they were available for pre-order 2 weeks ago in Australia. I thought they were selling out almost instantly everywhere. It was a surprise to get that email. So obviously I immediately ordered it 🙂 Will be interesting to see if it all works out.@@masterwatch

For us non-Casio fanboys who wear normal sized watches, this Casiotron is probably the only Casio we'd wear. "Small" is normal sized in the regular watch world. It's a shame Casio made this a limited edition. They had the opportunity to increase their fan base by making a normal sized, nice looking watch. I would have bought one eventually.
Oh well, I'll just stick with my Hamilton PSR.

Thank you very much for the video, the impressions from London and for the unboxing. In my view the Casiotron is far big enough. The authentic 1970s LCD-Watches are much smaller than actual G-Shocks (looking at the "small" size of my vintage 1979 Citizen Digi Ana). Hope you like your Casiotron and you are still wearing it - now with positive vibes concerning the size...
must admit I got used to the size and I do like it. Saying that I still like the size of the squares also.

It's a great watch! Love the size. Looks so well done, especially the bracelet. Does it have the, find your phone feature? I was sure it does. I really like Casio's unique fluting style. Enjoy your Casiotron!
yes it has the find-your-phone feature.. I think the module driver is the same as the GMW-B5000 and others with MB6 and Solar. It is a very good feature set. The watch does grow on you.
I just picked one up. I had no plans to buy it but an AD offered to me for retail price. As it’s a watch that others can’t buy, I just had to have it 😂. So I totally get the mad panic you had to rush into London to buy this. I hate London. I guess you drove in but had to cycle across the city to avoid paying the congestion fee and the obscene parking fee. Oh well congratulations I guess it was all worth it in the end. Only watch nutters will understand this 😂😂😂
you are totally right 😂 we watch nutters are nutty (speaking for myself) really. London these days is not like what it was 10 years ago but I suppose it has G-Shock in Carnaby Street today which is good. The C-Tron is a nice watch and I think you'll be happy you got it. I have a feeling Casio will release another C-Tron TRN-50 but in another colour way and/ or they might release the Square C-Tron that would be so cool.
It’s a fantastic watch! I absolutely love mine. The bracelet was a pain in the ass to size!
you are right the bracelet isn't the easiest and I had to do it twice but now it is perfect.
Such a great watch. Can't wait for mine to arrive. I think it's priced appropriately - show me another solar atomic time metal digital watch for less, you won't find it! And this is celebrating 50 years of their first watch ever.

the heritage is very good and amazing it is 50 year old design.
That's one lovely looking Casio. Sometimes you just have to trust in the designers vision. The size is perfect, the more you wear it the more it'll grow on you. Excellent buy, and I hope you have fun owning it :)

I like the fact that it's small. I started to dislike wearing the chunky, heavy steel square G-Shock more and more. To the point I'm wearing it less and less. This would be absolutely my cup of tea. A gentleman's digital watch.
I must admit now I do like the size and it wears very well.

I bought the new 50th TRN-50SS only this morning.. so now I have 2 Trons... I've grown to like the size.
I managed to order one on the UK site. It was a bloodbath. My confirmation email is timed at 10:02 so I was very lucky. I had 2 laptops and a phone refreshing the site.
Received confirmation of dispatch this morning so hoping it will be here to enjoy this weekend!

11:30 The Tron looks bettah than any of the watches you displayed. In particular that frog is ultra hideous. Great purchase

Nice review but you should concentrate on the watch not how to open the box without damaging it.

Good luck to the flippers… I wonder if they know about the range of casiotrons rereleased for the 25th anniversary some years back. Still can be had for good prices.

1970s design that they made prettier than ever. Super cool and it’s the right size for what it is. It’s got the simplest small module in it so no need for a huge case
it is a cool watch actually and I really do like the design.
The module in the square G-Shocks are small as well. It's just that added protection that adds a lot of volume.

In Italy through the Casio website (being a CasioID member) I could receive the notification as soon as it was available. The email arrived on the 29th when the watch was already sold out.. Lots of advertising but obviously minimal availability.
However, I had already bought it on the 27th from my trusted seller who fortunately received one having had it on order since the first days of January. Complete with commemorative stand, cool.
It would be curious to understand whether the serial numbers were distributed logically or randomly (I think randomly). Mine is 3097.
The same happened in France.. I do think it is very cool that you had yours ordered and a stand, that is nice.

Mine is arriving on the 19th :) In Canada, it went on sale on March 13, and they were sold out within hours. Thanks for the knife trick, will probably have to use the same maneuver to get the box to open up haha
Oh that is interesting I didn't know there was a country staggered release. I bet it has sold out so it is good you have one ordered. Oh yes do use the knife, it does work well.

I did look at the PRX but I really wanted Solar and Bluetooth built in and the moment I saw the C-Tron I thought this is my wish list.
@masterwatch Never thought of the Solar and BT. Both great features. I think if the PRX was Solar it may have been better received.
@@rodg2335 for me the Solar is a big draw and the reason I just haven't wanted a few digital watches as with today's technology it wouldn't costs much to add the solar feature as I think it is a big draw for digital watch enthusiasts. Bluetooth requires the maker to produce a smartphone app and is a lot more expensive but again probably a feature that people like as I know I do appreciate it.
That's a great one, but so small compared to the others, a master piece for sure, no doubt.
I have got used to the size and I do like it. There does seem to be many people who like the size.
The case is not small … it’s the screen size that’s smaller than the square. That said, this is Casio watch and not a Gshock.

@@masterwatch received my watch this morning, sized it and loving it. I agree that the size at first, seems smallish … especially coming from the Frog :). But, after wearing it for about bit … I get it. I see why it’s become one of your favorites!

I bought one of these (pre-order) and got it today. It’s definitely worth the money considering the all metal squares are the same price. Not to mention this is a limited release. It looks amazing in person and is worth it to me.
I would not be surprised if the module inside the Casiotron is actually the same as the one in the metal squares.
I think you are right because it has the same functionality but they will have to use a different screen display.

Looks good, but for £449 you'd expect it to.
I know I have thought about this.. because I do like it and it is very well made I can see why it retailed for this amount. It is a nice watch and unexpected by me.

Think I've got to used to the quality of my MRG square G-Shocks now as the bracelet on the Casiotron looks poor quality.
But I can only see the images in the video. I've not seen it in hand.
you are right it does have that feeling look I suppose but I do like it. The size did strike me when I opened it.

@@JustMeTalking actually it wears very well because it is small but you have to remember I do wear larger watches so I am used to watches being larger on my wrist but good question and it dead wear very well.

it does have an interesting vibe and look that is for sure but saying that I do like it. Designing watches is not easy and just think it was designed 50 years ago and that for me is amazing.

you might have found for sale on the Grey Market but they are not available on Casio or any other Retailer website I have looked at. Where did you see them for sale?

I was a little underwhelmed at first as I expected it to be a little bigger as I am used to larger watches but now I have been wearing it I think it is great and like the size.

Same here, I loved it until I went to try it on in the shop and found out that the fit was almost a women's watch. That's the second thing I'm worried about buying after the dial glass.
The size has grown on me and now I do not mind it. I think the size is more illustrated by the actual LCD display size in that it is a little smaller than the Square B5000 but it is still ok. I'd really like to see the Square Casiotron being re-released for me that would be very cool also.
