- At least four suspects are in custody after a sheriff’s deputy walked in on them allegedly attempting to rob a convenience store.
Video obtained exclusively by KTLA shows the suspects rushing into the store, located at the intersection of Victoria Street and Avalon Boulevard in Carson, around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The suspects were seen quickly hopping over the counter while the clerk was still behind the register. Three suspects entered from the front door and one suspect entered from a side door.
KTLA's Rachel Menitoff reports on Jan. 13, 2024.

Working at a convenience store especially overnight is one of the most dangerous jobs there is.
That immigrant was willing to take that risk so someone could get a slurpee at 1:30 AM.
I remember driving by a store the girl working overnight was shot and killed. As just a little kid I remember being sad and thinking about her and having to be there at that time.

Very weird I have only seen such behavior in El Salvador, where gangs had control over entire cities and even the police.
In the 1960s 7-11s in Dallas were being robbed so often that the company put in one-way glass to the back room, where a Dallas cop would spend time with a shotgun by his side. I've observed California at her best, and was sufficiently fortunate to move to the East Coast prior to the re-re-election of Governor Gerry (Moonbeam) Brown Jr. and, (unfortunately) onward to Gavin ("can't decide if I'm gay or just plain stupid") Newsom. California now has the highest income tax in the United States of America. Crime (including crimes committed by MS13 members) whom Governor Newsom welcomed into the State of California with open arms; include murder for hire, fentanyl lacing of knock-off pharmaceuticals, and many, many other felonious behaviors. I think it safe to finally declare California in a decedent state of post-life existence.
I cant stand people like these criminals. My Dad worked at a gas station late at night when i was younger, just to make ends meet. Some teenagers stole a case of beer and knocked him out with it as he approached them, and he hit the ground. He never fully recovered and they never found the guys :(

I was taped at my mouth, ankles, and my wrists were taped behind my back. I nearly died from lack of oxygen. After they left, I managed to get to my knees and dial 911 using my nose on a touch pad desk phone. They were eventually caught & received 11 to 13 years. For those that believe jail does not deter crime, simple fact, when THAT person is in jail, THEY will not commit crime on the general public. I have also heard that longer jail terms do not reduce crime. That may be, but they have also not made it clear that neither does shorter terms. Some individuals just choose a bad life, and the best you can do is keep them away from you and your family.
It keeps the bad guys off the streets.
The jail system is trash at setting prisoners up for a successful and meaningful life after their sentence is up, putting the general public at risk of more crimes being committed after the prisoners are released. Whereas if rehabilitation instead of punishment was the focus, these prisoners could re-enter society and create a positive impact on their communities rather than commit more crimes
