  • This is a full independent review of the Heta Inspire 55, we test the stoves real world performance in:
    Clean glass
    Fuel economy
    Ease of lighting
    And controlling
I also give my views and a bit of background information. The videos are designed to be quick with only the key information, but you are welcome to ask questions in the comments.
We are a little independent channel that started doing this purely for a love of the industry. Over time it has become what we do, and we have been fortunate enough to cover our costs and make living. This is achieved through:
Manufacturers sending us stoves, that they allow us to keep.
Some paid work, making videos for RUclips or a manufacturers own website.
Your views and the ad revenue generated.
and our little shop here on RUclips.
Thank you so much to all of you for your support!!!
If you would like any further information about the stove or us please feel free to drop me a comment or you check can out the manufacturers page here:

It looks a very nice stove focused more on burning wood. The ashpan is too small for solid fuel. I'd buy a Woodwarm stove. Oh I did 13 years ago, a 4.5kw fireview, a great choice.
Used to buy villager budget brand. A range with boiler running 13 rads £780 in 2008. Berkley with integral boiler running 6 rads and hot water in 2010. £645 and in 1991 a Villager Medium. The A range was the best as wood was cheap in Normandy per cubic metre, seasoned and delivered ready to burn. 15-30 euros a cubic metre. We got through 25 cubic metres over 7 months of Winter heating a 3 bed stone built detached school house. They were OK but not a patch on the woodwarm for efficiency, controllability, clear glass and build quality. You get what you pay for!

Woodwarm stoves are fantastic, that’s what I have, I burn anthracite on our stove, loads of hot water and a very hot home.

What about a video on Flue Liner..5" vs. 6", what to use and when??

Yea, I’ll have a think. Generally 6” is better with liners, but you do get cases of very short chimneys (particularly with out buildings, boats and caravans) where having smaller 5” and even 4” chimneys are beneficial. Morsø used to make a special 4” collar for their stoves, only for use in boats and caravans. I think they sold a 4” flue kit too.

Great Review! 😁 Any chance you can review a Dunsley Highlander 5? Would love to know your thoughts on it, moved into a house with one and found it a brilliant stove so far. Keep up the good work 👍

great review! just a question, if my stove is fitted with a defra kit, do i still need to nudge out the secondary air if i want to lock it down for the night?

Every chimney and stove will work slightly differently, so it’s impossible to say. Having said that, in the case of the Inspire, most will find that they can fully close it (if they have the DEFRA kit fitted).

Good review. When I get a new stove it'll be either a Heta Inspire 45 or a Clock Blithfield... Tough choice, because I like the precision control and "flame pictures" that the Inspire offers, but I prefer the more traditional look and heavy build of the Blithfield.
Just some minor feedback... when demonstrating the controllability of a stove, and what "flame pictures" can be achieved, it'd be good if you didn't display the results in slow motion. As a consumer, it'd be nice to know exactly what sort of flames the stove is capable of producing, and how fast / slow they are.

That’s a good suggestion. I have been working on tweaking our format for the last few months, so in 2025 I’m hoping to do something of a relaunch. I will bear your suggestion in mind, for sure.

You know the answer to that! Just need a Hammond and May, then the Tortoise is ready for prime time BBC!!! Haha.

      I’ll let Amy know she’s May 😂.
Liam who works with us might do as Hammond, but he is ginger 😁.

in colder weather in USA people fill the wood box up to the up with like 10-15 good sized logs. Can we do something like that with this stove? or is it just for fun and showing off and making friends jealous

to me the wood box doesn't look very practical as it is very narrow and the logs might roll over and fell down, don't you think? They could have a least provisioned a guard rail.

They’re trying to create a big viewing area. It’s very much a stove that doesn’t need filling, you run it half full and it provides its full output along with an unbelievable look. If you were to fill it, you’re right, but this would also produce a higher output.

@@TheTortoise I wish you'd add a new category to reflect wether a stove is for serious users in very cold weathers relying solely on the stove versus the ones seeing to create a focal point.
