  • US Navy ships stop for a rest in Singapore. Singapore is one of the 20 smallest countries in the world, comprising of 63 small islands.
Singapore is the least corrupt city (island, City/State) in Asia and the fifth least corrupt in the world.
Military service is mandatory for all men in Singapore for two years after finishing high school. And every year, servicemen need to return to train till they are 40 years of age.
The entire economy of Singapore is based on shipping, and everything from sand to freshwater is imported. At the same time, the state exports a lot as well. One out of every six people in Singapore has assets worth USD1 million or more, higher than anyone else in the world. Singapore is the fifth largest arms importer in the entire world, as per a study by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
    It's a wild place but low key, pretty slimy. #navy #military #singapore

Did you know, every time an Aircraft Carrier Group Docks in Singapore, American Military Police personnel are stationed with Singapore Police patrol cars cruising around especially the city areas. Also the Carrier can dock alongside the pier and the approaches patrolled by fast crafts manned by Singapore Navy Specialized Units with support of Singapore Coast Guard vessels from the Singapore Police Force.
