  • Siquijor, a small island in the Philippines known for its pristine beaches, waterfalls, and mystical traditions. But today, we're not here to explore its tourist attractions. Instead, we are desperate for a haircut and are going to try a local barber shop.
Upon arriving at the barber shop, we were immediately surprised at how simple the setup was. It was a small, open-air space with a single barber chair. But what truly shocked us was the price of a haircut - only 50 PHP, which is less than 1 USD!
We couldn't believe how affordable it was, but we were also a bit skeptical about the quality of the cut. However, our worries were put to rest as the barber skillfully and efficiently went to work, giving us a precise and clean haircut.
We highly recommend checking out local barbershops during your travels, and if you happen to be in Siquijor, make sure to stop by this particular one and get a great haircut at an unbeatable price.

I advise travelers to explore the country's less traveled areas, such as Northern Samar, which has a beach with pink sand and beautiful water, a surfing region, enormous caves, and imposing waterfalls. If you ride a motorcycle around the island, stop by the locals and ask them about a white sand beach in (Ka-go-soo-an)Kagusuan Beach in Maria, Siquijor, that not many people are aware of. Naturally, the island's Barracuda free dive is a must-do as well.

I'm glad you went to the budget barbershop in town. The upscale barbershops, such as those in the malls, are pricey, but they are still accessible and somewhat less expensive for visitors from other countries. I sincerely hope the results of the haircut pleased you. Our official language is Tagalog, however, people from Mindanao and the Visayas region also speak other languages and dialects that make up the Bisaya group. From Central Visayas to Mindanao, Cebuano is the primary language used. English is also the official language but not the sole official language.

Wow, you guys look 10 years younger after the haircut... And did i hear it right, you'll be staying here for 4 months on your return in June? That's great to hear. However, June is the start of the rainy season here. So it's gonna be wet. However, there is also a forecasted el nino , so maybe it's still going to be dry in June and the months after. But i think it would still be best if you return maybe before summer ends like in May. You can also catch the Pahiyas Festival in Quezon Province where they decorate the houses with colorful rice leaves and produce. It's one of the popular festivals here which we have a lot of like Sinulog, Masskara, Panagbenga Flower Festival, etc.
