    I drove that video trail for 35 years. Lived in Woodlad Park all those years. What wonderful memories. How I miss this little town and my mountain house there.

    Little known fact about this stretch: the reo speedwagon song riding the storm out is about driving down pass from woody p to CoS

    Colorado Springs has a lot of tourist attractions. You could spend a few days just seeing the sites. But beyond Woodland is my playground. Less cars, people and open land. Thankfully that part of Colorado is still untouched by urban development and masses of people interested in turning the state into what they left! Thanks for the ride Kyle❣

      @@john65645 that's what my brother tells me. They always call me "long way" cause even if its a 5 min drive I take a 10 min way. Haha. I followed my brother home from her house once and he was right, way shorter.

    After seeing all the videos of I-70 going though the Rocky Mountains, this is a nice change of pace. Hopefully US Route 24 will be as scenic as I-70.

      Thank you! I wanted to take US-24 because I've taken I-70 so many times and done videos over the years. This was a great drive, as you'll see in the coming videos.

    As a Dutchman I like to see people driving through mountainous regions! Especially now that I am not able to travel to your country due to COVID! In my country, which is mostly flat, we have basically one real mountain, the Vaalserberg, which is 323,4 metres (1056 feet) high. Of course, you can drive to places like Germany to see real mountains, but they are covered with trees and other vegetation. I like the bare mountains, with no vegetation. In Europe, you have to drive to countries like Austria or Switzerland to see that.

      I’m a Dutch American (100%). My grandparents came over in the early 1900’s. I live in Woodland Park and never get sick of this drive and the views. No photos nor video captures it completely. It’s breathtaking.

    For those new to the area, watch your speed and keep a very careful watch out for radar along Hwy 24 from Old Colorado City all the way up to Divide (in both directions). It's one of the most notorious stretches in the state.

    Ute Pass can be pretty treacherous at times in the winter. Skinny Taco in Bust is a great stop to eat if you want the best tacos around!

    i go through that pass pretty often and have taken a need to race through it for some reason. used to take me 25-30 minutes to get through, now its 10-15. something about those sharp corners makes me feel alive, i would not recommend doing this but its my personal little race track and its fun.

    More attention is paid to WB 70 west of Denver, but WB US 24 west of Colorado Springs looks like it gets you to more dramatic views sooner.

    I've never driven on that stretch of US 24. Anything between Colorado Springs and the 285 junction south of Fairplay is a mystery to me.
    Also, what kind of precautions did you take on this trip? Just wondering.

    • @InterstateKyle
      @InterstateKyle  3 года назад +1

      I mean I’m in my car for 80% of the day or more so I’m not out in the public exposing myself very much. I just go in a store to get gas or any supplies I need. For food I’m usually ordering through the drive thru on trips or ordering delivery at the hotel through doordash. Very little exposure going on behind the scenes of these trips.

    Judging on the northwest route, will we see a Great Basin crossing of I-80 and US-50 or will you follow a southwestern route home
