About Alcryst, I've been thinking of giving a try a Lyn build alongside Lunar Brace and Weapon Sync from Edelgard's ring.
Thanks to Lunar B, the lack of dmg Alcryst has towards endgame can be worked around, add WP Sync (which thanks to Lyn being a Bows emblem will always be active) it can act as a watered down Bow Power.
Edit: It is a hella expensive build tho, and will require favoritism regarding the SP books, specially if you want the upgraded version of both inheritables.
This is EXACTLY what I did. This dude just didn’t know how to build him. Weapon sync+ and Lunar Brace + plus Luna? Talk about fixing his damage. (you use SP conversion as well to get the extra SP needed for this)
I’ve *really* enjoyed Alcryst + Edelgard. She gives extra Str and Dex, and at high bond level he has access to an axe, lance, and three-range bow.
Give him a Killer Bow and Brave Bow, and he goes to town!
Yeah, there's definitely things that I could do to Alcryst to make the build hum more, no doubt there.
28:31 legitimate random thought but when you said Silver Blade I realized Celine would rock Lodestar rush since she’d not only deal 210% damage of the blade as a Mag attack, & if she procs Ignis, wouldn’t it use half of her magic since she’s using a physical weapon? That would be funny 🤔
Alcrest using lodestar rush with Luna chance & guaranteed poison after combat is also hilarious, man everyone is a great lodestar rush, user

everything else is kind of predictable to me, but really surprised with the boucheron build, I completely overlooked the potential of moved to tears in my runs, TIL, thanks for sharing that : )

ettie is a lot more consistent that alcryst, she is slower and doesn't have the huge luna payoffs, but always can count on her to do something (yes, on maddening), lyn is even better for her since it gives a lot of speed which is more important to her than to alcryst
Yeah, I'm highly valuing Etie's strength now. Alcryst is swingier, but there's something to be said for reliability.
Alcryst with Lyn, weapon sync+ will destroy. I love him.

21:29 for Alcrest I’d consider Weapon surge & Str/Dex +2 when going lyn, yeah it’s definitely more expensive, but I think one could make it, if you’re gonna be bow locked, might as well take full advantage of it lol
A really scuffed set you could try, is Mag/Dex & Draconic hex with Celica’s Echo, classic debuffing 2 foes, let’s you Luna proc with seraphim or Ragnarok, and gives you another AoE healer, even not engaged you get a boost for the radiant bow, or you could just favorite food back into engage
I’m pretty sure warp Ragnarok procs Luna too 👀
Will I be doing it? I don’t know lol, it just depends on which rings the dragon units are going to have
How to make alcryst work brave bow and lunar brace
I actually did a support Alear in my first playthrough, though it wasn't Maddening, and I ended up going Martial Master instead of High Priest. He was a good unit, though!
I'm telling people, support Alear is the way to go.
Im sorry im Really Trying on Bouche but hes been kinda mid for me even with high investment, doing that much id rather do for Yunaka/Lapis,,,, I used all the dlc SP to give Yunaka str/dex+5 and it gave her that extra Smacc she needs
Support Alear tho is like, a mainstay on every run for me, I rly love it
I really enjoy Veronica for back up summons & contracts, and while I see the idea, don’t you lose these features when you engage+? I really didn’t use it in my play through so I can’t remember, I also don’t know if it works with bond rings, if it does, then it gives me a good reason to actually use some, like Sorin or Liliana’s S ranks, or Dimitri’s hit & run, heck Spur attack is also just great for Alear
Still, this is roughly the build I would use lol, it still feels weird giving up the sword, but honestly? I never used it lmao
Yeah that's the thing, I've never once needed or cared about Engage+. It's cool, but by the time you get it I've already got all my strats and builds locked in, so I never want to use it. I'd always rather use Veronica than Engage+ in this build scenario, for example.
Poison doesn’t work the same as a back up attack. Js
With Alcryst you can kinda do a similar thing that you did with The Bouch.
Marth + Brave Bow to maximize attacks. Combine with Dex +5 and Dex/Spd +5 for maximum memes.
I've gotten plenty of one shots on Generals with 0 damage reported.
That +10 magic with Chrom is completely wasted on Bucheron. Wouldn’t recommend that. At all.
