  • 1970 Camaro dash panel removal. We take the dash pad out of our Camaro. This dash removal will apply to 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978 Camaro. We also show the removal of Air Conditioning components. AC makes the job more complicated but it is a great DIY project. Air equipped Camaros have vents that can trip you up in the removal and we show how to take them out without wrecking the dash.

I stumbled across this video trying to get a better look into the A/C for 2nd gen camaro . I really appreciate the fact that you guys DONT have tacky editing and you’re actually showing the common minor struggles just pulling screws and panels. I don’t think people quite understand that you’re showing us just as if we are sitting in the car with you unlike most where it shows them magically throwing parts at the car and it almost puts itself together. It’s videos like this that make the average person confident they can do it. Even though I didn’t find what I needed for my car in this video im positive it’s going to help hundreds of others on their builds. Thanks for sharing

Great job guys. Most of those plastic pieces took a beating over the years. Looking forward to the install.

I just did a heater core replacement. I wish I'd gone her first. Many other things need repair.
A rat's nest of bogus wiring, hanging heater vents and controls not working. Thanks, your pace is good. Some guys on here, drive me nuts

I love this series, as a general Mustang guy I found your channel. However I bought a 71 Camaro back in September that I am starting the restoration. Thanks for the videos.

In 1984 I had a 1978 Camaro, and it was of course in really good shape. No door hing problem. Now I have another one. I actually have a 1980, and 1978 Camaro. Looking forward to getting my 1978 Camaro on the road!! The 350 runs really good!!!

Jeff, I met you years ago through Mustangs Northwest. I have a 71 Z28 now (in addition to the Mustangs) that has some cowl rot and this video was very helpful for me to understand what I will need to do to get the dash out. The good news is real '71 Z, so NO a/c :).

That is cool! I kinda wish this one was a real Z but I am sure it is an RS, maybe even an RS SS.

1968 and on really saw the start of flimsy GM interior components. Even in 67 you saw plastichrome on parts that were chrome-plated metal the year before.

You need to use power tools so you don't end up with tendentious in our hands like I did after years of twisting nuts and screws by hand. Nice touch with the fairlane fender cover on the chevy

LOL yeah, I (Jeff) was in a lot of back pain that day and didn't notice one of the camera guys had put the Fairlane cover on the door. Being non-car guys, they don't think about it. I tried to reduce the impact of it in post but...

All my screws were bogus. Changing tips every few seconds.

It's a shame that the lower dash (without the seatbelt light) isn't reproduced, so much cleaner than the later version. I'll keep watching for videos relevant to our Projects ('73 Camaro, '79 Z/28)

I own a 1980 Camaro Berlinetta. I did slightly open the dash compartment & placed it back. It's too delicate. I'll have a pro install it.

Its 2022 now and those lap vents are going for 275 bucks per side ! Looks like I'm going to be looking for a "custom" set of vents I can graph in. I refuse to pay that kind of money for some brittle broken plastic parts that will most certainly need repairs and painting at the very least.
And that seatbelt warning is a real bummer.. I haven't found a way to cut it out and fill it in yet..
Maybe if we all pestered NPD they would repop it for the 1970 guys ?? Lol
