After 6/27/18 Covermate III no longer includes the inserted two hole metal supports shown at 1 minute into this vid. I received two instruction sets and the more current set is dated 7/3/18 and its illustration has deleted the same two hole metal supports. This vid is dated 2013. So be aware not all parts correspond to the new assembly sets. Skip over those portions between the first 1 minute to 1:15. Make one wonder why these strengthening pieces are no longer available, except it makes the pivot point less sturdy and subject to plastic breakage.
Yeah if you going to make a video you probably ought to use the right tools for the job, those channel locks probably are not the best choice, but thanks for the video instructions!
At 2:40 and then 2:55 it looks like you're blindly drilling into the cabinet shell. How do you know you're catching the frame underneath? And missing screws or other fasteners in the frame?
I have a covermate II installed on an Arctic Spa. The cover does not sit straight up vertically, it slopes in toward the tub so blocks are view. I was told that it could not be mounted the edge of the hot tub skirt because of the type of skirt Arctic spa uses. they had to mount it where the best support is! not happy!
Skip the music and explain what, when and why. No metal plate in ours, what's it's purpose? Still better than the directions that came with it but not by a lot.
The instructions with the product are truly dreadful. The video is helpful. My question is that you seem to have stuck the u-bar between the channel seams of the cover and the instructions appear to caution not to do that. Which is correct?
Our hydraulic arms are not lining up with the ball joints and that seemed to be the case in the vid but how that was corrected was not shown. Any fixes for this?
Insert bottom shock (the small rod), graphic the top rod and muscle them together while someone else guides the hole onto the ball. Takes a lot of muscle to pull them shorter
Better than the instructions, but does not explain anything. No wonder the company that installed the spa asked if I would like to install the cover myself - "sure, no problem" - I mean, how hard could it be.... :o
geez people I realize this is an old video but I think in 2013 they had invented the proper toois to do this job. Do not demonstrate how to do something if you are not going to do it correctly.

Good job on the proper tools for proper install

Thanks for doing this. Your video far better than instructions that came with it.
How can I even finish watching that video from the moment I see him using a pair of channel lock pliers to put on a nut where is his socket set?

THANK YOU! Spent an hour yesterday with no result using their awful instruction sheet.
Did they seriously use pliers instead of a wrench?
My thoughts also. Mickey Mouse installer on a Mickey Mouse product. Not impressed at all!!
...or a ratchet

Very helpful. Carly Soto is right. The instruction sheet is poor. Thanks!!
all I want to know is can this be installed on a jacuzzi j385

There is pressure from the pistons lifting the centre of my cover when closed. Is this a design flaw or issue with the pistons?
Mine does exactly that and the hooks have ripped through the cover hinge! Waste of money!!!
This video is out of date. The components do not match those distributed with the Covermate III as of 2023.
My spa is flush with the deck, is there a video of how and where to mount the bracket in this case? I have the Cover Mate |||
+Krassy Doremus there is a deck mount version available

why don't you get some real tools those pliers and not for this type of job
And the tool choice is ridiculous also. Not exactly a confidence builder
This is a terrible instruction video. Cut the music and explain. As noted, the instructions are terrible
