I recieved Caeser 3 as a free game with our first PC. Still one of my favourite games to noot up and play about on! Definitely going to have to invest in this one. Great content colonel 😉
I was hoping it would be like Civ City Rome, my absolute favouritist city building game set in the Roman Empire, so much so that I bought it on Steam after my CD version fundamentally exploded. The Steam version still had the bleeding bug with the woodworkers just spending all day doing push ups.
Oh the realism is just amazing: At the riverside let’s lift the water up 100 feet just to have a good 1/2 mile of 100 foot tall aqueduct and then dump it in a cistern. *By no means* move the water through a 1/2 mile of 8 or 10 foot tall aqueduct, and *then* lift it into a cistern… That would be completely unreasonable. Obviously.
The illuminati set the date in 1237 BC and were just counting down to when they executed their plan to create a new religion on the back of the old one.
I'm not a big fan of how disasters are implemented in these types of games, but since they (the gods) don't seem horrible here and they are pretty easy to manage, it's not a big problem. But I'm still not sure what it adds.
I do get where you are coming from but given the setting and that the gods played such a significant role in that era most devs seem to feel they can't just be ignored entirely so the question then becomes if this is not a great option what is a way to implement them that feels like it adds something to the gameplay experience. The one good thing this game does seem to do is allow you to appease all of them rather than being forced to receive some punishment for favouring one over the other.
'Heil Cheeser!' 'Oh! .. ail-ser .. Mmm, yes.' 'Fling not thy thwarts at me.' 'Thwarts, you say .. thu ou ardz?' 'I say, Boss, how do we spell "thu ou ardz""?' 'Erm a "thoo" and an "art" with a "wha" add an "s" or two .. then juggle them about.' Yey! ;o)

Thanks for that. I loved Caesar 3 and I think I’ll love this too!
The first time in 2050 years that Sextus Pompeius has been called a "cheeky blighter", but IT WILL NOT BE THE LAST
"Friends, Romans, Failuremen, lend me your ears....or I'll rip em off ya, ya sorry Heath."
The game reminds me of ‘Civ City Rome’, though that game had mixed use buildings rather than trying to cram 4 patricians to a house.

I’d completely forgotten Caesar 3 existed!
How did they know it was 36 bc? 🤔
Calendar obviously.
@@thewise3551 mwahahahaha good call!

whitchcraft obviously
12:40 This feels like Eddie Izzard's bit on what God created in each of the first 7 days. 😂
Revamped Caesar 3?! PLEBS ARE NEEDED!
Wait, this isn't about salad! Lies, lies I have been told! There is nothing better than a Caesar!
Aqueducts... so you can have them day one. Aperanently not in Memoriapolis.
Putting the quacks office next to the boozer now that's good planning. :)
When the doctor (or "butcher") nearly killed you, you could go next door for a restorative drinkie...
What does a Forum do? Neatly fills up that space between a Threeum and a Fivum...
Well I thoroughly enjoyed that
I think I could get Ceaser 3 working on my old PC, can't remember if it ever did run though, ah the past was the worst xD
I got it running on Win10/11 without too much grief.
I think I played Caesar 2 much more than 3.
@@PedalBox iirc it was c3 on win98
I am the opposite to this post.
Win95 was the peak of technology.
@METALFREAK03 no updates and buggered games is all a 10 year old me remembers from back then 🤣
The text on the interface is absolutely tiny - is it scalable in the settings?
It is. Appears to be tiddly due to upscaled recording.
You meant Place a fountain and not the other Bang in a fountain? Or both?

@@RandomWombleP Maybe you get a buff based on who your citizens worship the most, with the drawback of not appeasing them just being no buff
At least it looked like you could switch them off in Sandbox mode...
Yeah, yeah all very nice. Where are the chufin trains?
All Rails Lead To Rome Station...
Was that an onion orchid ....
This game sounds effects are similar to Foundation. Any chance that it is from the same developer?
Different developer, but it's possible both have used the same audio library.
