Shut up with that Soldotna! I think I like your sleeve idea and I cannot wait to see it done. Also, I love that you started using a cleaning service. I used to work as a freelance housekeeper for homes and businesses on and off for a long time, and I think supporting that kind of work is awesome! xo.
That is awesome, Tommi! It's such a win/win for everyone. I also hired a messenger service to deliver packages to the post office. I do love supporting small / local businesses 😊
Will she finish it?! Yes she will!! She will finish them!! Your birds of a feather is too stunning to languish my dear and well, the soldotna is clearly going to be done in no time!!
I'm so jealous of your cleaning service. I don't need help with the day to day (laundry, counters, bathrooms- ok, the showers would be great, too), but I would kill for someone to come in once a month and help out with the dog hair! I only have one, and he's a lab, so not as massive a shedder as a husky or shepherd, but (like you said) it's annoying to look around and think, "whoa......that's not a dust bunnie, that's an ecosystem".
OMG your Soldotna is very beautiful..love the colors of your yarns. You have done a wonderful job/sewing on your corset. :-) Yes I used to buy 'costume 'patterns and use today's fabrics..fabulous!! it's fun walking down stairs with a 'train' er dragging behind you. Love your podcasts xx
Oh man. I really thought I'd escaped the Soldotna bandwagon as it just isn't really my personal style. But your version is one of the prettiest things ever, and now I have to try!
I was thinking of commenting same thing, Sarah. Phonetically I’d say it sounds like : soul-daught -nuh . Great effort Kristin. We do have weird names up here (I’m in anchorage)
Love your Soldotna so much! When you record your frogging video, you need to call it Chuck the Chuck! haha Your sewing is so impressive! A full coat and now a corset? I can't even figure out how to make a basic skirt. Guess I need to practice more!
I love your Soldotna's moody color palette! I truly do vote for you to finish it. :) I'm making my own right now on a SUPER bright color scale, but I"m thinking I will also do a more subtle one, too.
My gma is a retired seamstress, and her teacher in sewing school always warned them never to start a project on a Monday, because it was bad luck, and your project would either never get finished, wouldn't come out right, and/or you would run into all kinds of problems while making it. Later, when she was in her career job sewing ballroom dance costumes, her boss made it a point to never give them new work on a Monday for the same reason. Her sewing teacher was Russian, her school was in Paraguay, her job was in Phoenix, and her boss was American, so I don't think it's a cultural superstition. It would be interesting to look back on your hibernating wips to see if you cast them on on a Monday! 😉
Hi, Can't remember if you answer questions here but if so, can you tell me what is the tutorial that you found to make bias tape, please and thank you.

Thank you Zoe! I didn't think it was my style, too. I think it's all about finding a color palette that works for you. :)
So close- it's 'sol- dot-na'. It's a small town in Alaska on the Kenai peninsula (I love how Catlin's patterns remind me of my home state!)
Sarah Elton I live in Soldotna, so I have to make one.

Leave it to me to pronounce it "Sol-don't-nuh" 🙄🤦🏻♀️ Thanks for the correction, Sarah!
I love that you put the Black Knight clip in!! 😆
3/4 sleeves would look amazing, that's what i'm planning on for mine :-)
