I remember dancing to this at the Troc in SF! Who could ever forget the great dances at the Moscone Center (nothing like partying with a few thousand people!)! Seeing Sylvester at The Woods at Russian River, what fun.

I have heard SO many versions to this song that i don't know which is the original. Man, this is a good one. So many memories... Long live Sylvester and Patrick Cowley and Disco .. !!
This is the 1984 one with Sylvester vocals. And in my opinion is the best and most definitive version.
The original version didn't have Sylvester, and it was much more "llat" sounding without him IMHO
The original 1981 version did chart though, so it's not a bad song by any means.
But hearing it after you've heard Sylvester, it suffers.
If you want to hear the original, go and look for the 12" 1981 release....

Good music with a great singer Sylvester
It's interesting actually how 'off time' (unquantized) the drums and synths are. Since they had to be triggered by a human and Patrick Cowley died before MIDI even existed it's quite astonishing really.
It's also strange, not just this track but the whole Menergy album, how 70s it sounds in places and how late 80s/early 90s it sounds in others.
Truly a pioneer.
This "Off time" effect with the drums and synths is exactly what gives the Cowley productions that particular sound, almost like a catchy reverb, and in my opinion this is genius, it sounds like you are in a big 80's club. I do believe that was done on purpose since all other productions from thise time don't have that "Off time" effect.

Patrick worked from scratch and his music still sounds better than people with the technology today!!
