I was so fortunate to have lived in SF in the late 1970’s and 1980’s. My boyfriend back then, seemed to know everyone. My Paul who was a charmer, and very good to me. He was friends with Patrick, Sylvester and even worked and knew Paul Parker. I am so fortitude to have these memoirs and will soon be retiring and moving to FL. God bless Patrick and my Paul

Before i became a dj in the latee 80's, early 90's, this song was always a staple heard in gay night clubs & of course gay bath houses. i danced myself in to a stupor with this song (the bathhouse part is for another time!!). Once i became i a dj, if i needed a dramatic opening to a special occasion, i always turned to the opening of this song & then of course played it in it's entirety to get the dance floor pumping. Never played it to an empty dance floor - it always packed it wall to wall. Thank you Patrick, my brother in my heart - i know you are teaching those harpists in heaven a thing or two about music!!!
I wrote a couple of lines by mail with Paul Parker and Jo Carol Block. They told me Patrick was a workaholic, he worked into studio all time, making music and mixing the parts. He wanted to be famous with his electronic music. He had his own little studio but after get some money he bougth new synths Prophet V and rented the Automatt studio. He was a genius of the future.
Yea! CIRCUS DISCO, The BEST club in Hollywood at that time in the 80's where you had to wait in line with thousands of other people to get in. Oh! their sound system and laser light show was AWESOME!
As a straight guy, I can appreciate this as some really experimental dance music (and most of his other stuff - even the gay porn soundtracks he scored), as most recall dancing to it back in the day. I will however state, as genius as this stuff is, I am not embarrassed about the fact I am listening to what people brand 'gay disco'. A pioneer that left us too soon.
I like to think Patricks music and indeed the whole hi nrg thing that burst out of the gay clubs around the turn of the decade wasnt gay music as such. It's just we were lucky enough to get it first, and had the good taste to bring it to our str8 friends 😁
