i think the black dagger was removed just because black knights and their weapons were big for the exact purpose to battle huge demons, a dagger would not have much reason to exist in this context
I see some saying the spikey pole is from Berserk/Berserk reference. While it would have likely been added as such (like Artorias) it is actually a real weapon. It's called the mancatcher and would be use to catch people by grabbing their neck. The Kuo Toa from D&D also use it.
Right, it still seems Berserk-inspired, while Berserk would be more inspired by actual real life torture devices/weapons, not just limited to religious torture. Eyepliers/10 is Berserk good or wat
The Chinese government was just recently using modern versions of it to contain people in the "quarenteen zones". They looked like they used springs instead of spikes
ikr, specially if the 2h r2 was one of those magic proyectiles they shoot. I was fangirling so bad when I saw the dark sword moveset and then I read it wasn't the actual thing :'(
Well to be honest it wouldn't been in line with other weapon designs. It looks way out of place and that's probably the reason they didn't include it in the game. It looks still cool though. Four Kings in general do look great. Definitely one of my favorite boss designs. It's such a shame the fight itself is just a dps race.
I'm not so sure but i think i saw the model for the black zweihander with a rusted texture at Artorias's grave, where all the swords are sticked in the ground in his honor or whatever. I can't remember to be honest, ill' check it out later to make sure.
Now i'm intrigued. ill go right ahead to Artorias's grave to see. If my memory serves me right, it should be at the right side of the grave (facing the grave from the giant doors).
Just confirmed. its a different design for the Black Zweihander and the regular one. Different: handguard, handle, blade horns (lugs) and such and such. Pretty cool that they left it in the game but still, would have been nice to see an Ultra-Greatsword that's shorter but has less weight consumption. Forgot to mention that the model for the Black Zweihander is at artorias's grave for sure.
Black Dagger: Seems like it would've been used by the longsword black knight in the left hand as a parrying weapon, i'm guessing they thought giving the black knight the ability to parry would be a little OP. The Four Kings Sword: Most likely removed because you need the four king's soul to put in the lordvessle so why the hell would you turn it into a weapon? Black Zweihander: I can't actually see any particular reason why this would've been removed, but my guess is that while the black Zweihander has the similar proportions to an actual Zweihander whilst the regular one does not, it was probably removed to avoid confusion since the Black Zweihander is similar to a greatsword more than the in game Zweihander. The Spikey Catch Pole: My guess is that they made the weapon before designing the area in would be in or the character it would be used by, it seems very different for the world of Dark Souls, seems like a weapon you'd see in the environments of the sequels though (especially 3). Or maybe it was used by the flying demons in anor londo, seems like something they would use. The Torch: was most likely made before they came up with the idea of the necromancer, i'm glad they made the change, really shows how different dark souls is compared to other RPG's "whats that you've got a torch? Well we've got a motherfucking FLAMING SKULL!" The Blowpipe: WAAAAYYY TOOO OP, especially for multiplayer, a player usable item that can inflict toxic with one shot? Definitely not okay. Not even fromsoft is that sadistic. Gwynevere's talisman: Wouldn't make sense for her to have a talisman since she technically (spoilers for a six year old game) she isn't in anor londo.
If you look closely at some of the swords near Artorias's grave, where you fight Sif, you can see that they're all models of actual swords in game. But, I couldn't identify one of the models until seeing this video--one of theme is the black zweihander. Also worth pointing out, the "spicky catch pole" appears to be heavily based off of a weapon used by one of Mozgus's torturers (from Berserk).
+Crestfallen Please do a free camera video in Anor londo in ds3. It would be really cool to see if there are any of the old rooms there that might be just left out of the final game or something. ☺
I know this is a late statement, but i'm almost certain that DSMODT didn't map the model of the unused torch properly. Swapping the value for the model of a weapon in-game with the model for the torch places it accurately. I assume this is a user error. Example: images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/251466029779314927/E5C6E7048C22CACD3CC74ADB63604FDDCCB0D26E/
Hey i know i'm really late to tell you this, but that is an actual thing that existed, tho he could have seen it at berserk and thought"hey that looks cool".
The Black Dagger seems to be a sort of ceremonial dagger or something, but that's just be. Nice demonstration of the unused weapons, Crestfallen! Also, HOLY COW that torch is a wasp! XD Dragon's Talisman??? O_o A curious name for a stone used by Gwinevere, don't you think? Do you think that reinforces the theory that Gwinevere and Seith might've done *you know what* and generated Priscilla?
I think there would be a dragon talysman not related to Gwynevere, and that Gwynevere talysman would be the Ivory talisman(that have a piece of her clothes) but for some reason they scrapped both together. Dragon Talisman sounds more like a name than a description. It remembers me of a talisman in demon's souls that's a shell, that can do both miracles and sorceries, I think this dragon talisman would be something like that.
So... Black zwei was wielded by shiva... Shiva was originaly supposed to be lookin for the chaos blade... Giant dad uses a chaos zwei... Giantdad is canon confirmed! #thelegendneverdies !
sad that the blowpipe never got added, imagine it having an innate toxic or at least poison buildup on every projectile. God i woulda loved to do an entire blowpipe only run
zerf sefo My recollection from the lore was that Gwynevere and Seath got together and made Priscilla (who was then abandoned/banished away): my assumption was that this talisman would commemorate this relationship, except for the fact that Seath is scaleless. Clearly, that isn't really the case, but that's how I initially perceived it. EDIT (The cloth would be from Gwynevere's clothes)
i remember i had done a similar thing and used the titanite catchpole with no problem. maybe you had the wrong ID? also, instead of using the lantern as a base for the torch i had used quelaag's furysword for the fire effect. in retrospect, a mace or morning star buffed with fire would be better edit: forgot to mention that the dagger reminds me of the darksword. and a fun fact about the darksword: the blue lines that are visible in sif's version of arty's GS are actually part of the darksword's textures
Dragon's Talisman as Gwynevere's Talisman that's strikingly odd. If it wasn't cut content, then that would imply that the First Born Son of Gwyn(FBSG) wasn't the only that made some sort of alliance with the dragons after some time had past in the game. Maybe that's one of the other reasons, she ran away with god Flann? Which also makes me wonder, did Gwynevere left shortly after FBSG?
unused content can't be used as canon, because andre would be gwyn's firstborn, oswald the "dragon oracle", there would be a shit ton of problems with the Izalith family, etc... but ironically in ds3 the queen of lothric, supposedly gwynevere, has some connection to dragons because of oceiros...
"oswald the "dragon oracle", there would be a shit ton of problems with the Izalith family" what? never heard of that before? got any sauce or is it just pasta?
billaros1000 docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AdlhpYFITAGnKVAIBMVverQ_E5m5xA19m0rG0Diyixs/edit#gid=0 these are the real names for ennemies ingame, crestfallen already used this in one video.
what would the problems with the izalith family then? keep in mind that what you posted is not cut content, just the various characters' names. some are just repurposed
After releasing AoA for DaS3 im realise that the black dagger can be used as a prototype for Valorheart. Looks pretty much similar, maybe a little bit longer.
Shiva was probably gonna main the Black Zweihander and the BZ was gonna be something special about it such as dark damage, or a different moveset but got scrapped. And they were probably gonna give Chester it but finally decide to axe the BZ for good.
i would love to see the black zweihander in the game it looks insane ! fromsoftware should sell it as a dlc or someone needs to mod it back in the game
veri gud vid, never saw these rendered ingame, you could have also showed the unused weapons at artorias' grave. but this dagger seems to be out of place for das, same for the black zweihnder I understand why they scrapped them.
***** Have you ever seen a zweihander for real? It's not a 90s dark fantasy game palette' sword... the only black part is maybe the handle for some modern era reproductions, as is was leather on original ones...
I forget that this game also went through the cutting room. Sad to see all these cool things gone. Is there a mod to bring this stuff in? It's not like you'll get banned for using it. What moveset was the 4K sword using.
The Four King's sword would of been a PvP pick if it was in the game offically, even if it was shit it just looks so stupid but so cool (and even cooler if they added the trail effect)
I think the blow dart tube would have been REVOLUTIONARY in dark souls 1... Im guessing they removed it because blow darts in the game would have been severely overpowered...
makes me so sad seeing unused content.
Destiny 1G much more when seeing it remain unused
3:18 this guy really doesn't know how blowdarts work. but he's so badass he makes it work anyway
You mean you don't use a blowpipe like that?
Black Zweihander looks pretty sick
I'd hate anyone who would use the blowpipe in invasions. And people fucking would.
Kevin Meisenbacher Chaos Blowpipe +5 baby
i think the black dagger was removed just because black knights and their weapons were big for the exact purpose to battle huge demons, a dagger would not have much reason to exist in this context
Yes, but that could be resolved just by removing the "black" name from the weapon.
@@kayqueelson1761 yeah but it looks like a black knight weapon anyway
You forgot to include the Lucerne
Is this some sort of in-joke?
520AR, solid moveset and it's pretty good with leo ring, just saying...
You must have seriously gotten something wrong
i forgot what that even was , damn , thanks for reminding me that piece of shit weapon exists
Don't you talk shit about my lucy.
That Black Dagger looks like something I keep in my bedside cabinet..
dildo?
Your username says everything.

a cool guy in berserk use the spiky catch pole
Yes, one of Mozgus' disciples.
It's a historical weapon commonly named "mancatcher". It was used to capture people by trapping their throats inside the ring.
Viper Joe it was the guy with the bird mask if I remember correctly
aqua it's awesome how many things from berserk were used. It makes the game much more darker than it already is.
aqua for real?
Black zwei hander looks so cool
it's so smol though, it can't even be an ultra greatsword :S
It's haki infused
Wish they have used the 4 kings sword
It would have been so cool.
ikr, specially if the 2h r2 was one of those magic proyectiles they shoot. I was fangirling so bad when I saw the dark sword moveset and then I read it wasn't the actual thing :'(

It looks exactly the same as the plesioth great sword
Well to be honest it wouldn't been in line with other weapon designs. It looks way out of place and that's probably the reason they didn't include it in the game.

The Four Kings sword looks like a part of a broken window.
HAHA
Its actually a wing
That bonfire is so good, love the ambience

Four king's sword looks more like a curved greatsword than a straight sword
The "dragon talisman" looks like the doll than you need to enter in irithyll in ds3
Imagine giant dad with the black zweihander...
A time when Sunlight Blade actually looked good.
Now featuring the Four Kings’ sword! Made of their moving van’s sheet metal.
Hey, what about King Jar'Eel's sword? Is there no model for it?
As I know there is no model of the sword alone, it seems to be just part of Jar Eel model.
+Crestfallen Please do a free camera video in Anor londo in ds3.
It would be really cool to see if there are any of the old rooms there that might be just left out of the final game or something. ☺
I will do it but there's a lot more DS1 videos i want to do before moving to DS3
***** Are you going to do any videos on ds2 also?
I don't plan on doing it. The videos of ds3 will be mostly just showing the place and there isn't much to explore on ds2 levels.

Spiky Catchpole is straight out of Berserk. Miyazaki isn't really subtle with his references.

Very impressive blowpipe skills! Your form was exquisite!
only someone with tons of blowing experience can do that
probablyyou already know but the Gwynevere talisman is actually a dragon scale binded with some canvas, hence the Dragon talisman name (:
zerf sefo seath has no scales
it IS a scale honey
Yes: I was just pointing out the lore between Seath "the scaleless" and Gwynevere. No big deal.
it is a scale from a dragon which is not Seath, how is that so strange to you?
zerf sefo My recollection from the lore was that Gwynevere and Seath got together and made Priscilla (who was then abandoned/banished away): my assumption was that this talisman would commemorate this relationship, except for the fact that Seath is scaleless. Giant dad with black zhweihander va giant dad with the normal one.
Crestfallen, Unreal Content
What map is being used here? Or rather, what location?
Moveset used for the four kings sword
from what weapon is that?
Black Sword I think. The one by the darkwraiths (not sure of the name)
The Darksword.
EarthBound Pwny Thanks for the correction ^^
I forget that this game also went through the cutting room. Sad to see all these cool things gone. Is there a mod to bring this stuff in? It's not like you'll get banned for using it.
What moveset was the 4K sword using.
There's DSMODT, and the 4K sword is using the dark sword moveset.
The first dagger gives me naughty thoughts, I'm glad they removed it
Man I'd like to use blowpipe, it feels like it would shoot some special kind of poisonous ammo of some sort.
Chester would have kicked ass with that black zwei.
I'd like to see the straight sword, there's only 2 broken versions but not the complete
Black bass cannon would have been so cool
*Crestfallen* Where are you at in this video?
The Black Dagger had something to do with Ciarian, maybe
yes, and i really want to see how Ciaran use it
The Four King's sword would of been a PvP pick if it was in the game offically, even if it was shit
it just looks so stupid but so cool (and even cooler if they added the trail effect)
thank you Daughters of Ash
Dark Sword moveset is sooo sexy.
did you mod your graphics? they look pretty good for ds1.
That's dlc
spiky catch pole another berserk reference
Black zweihander is mihawk's greatsword
Black Zweihander = Swag Cannon
Oh this melody...
0:16 they removed it because they realized daggers are fucking useless in 1 except pve
2:11 BERSERK REFERENCE
black zweihander?
How did you get that armor? :'(
See the weapons is the porn for a warrior

I got the all of the unused weapon, it's good weapon
hey can you remove quelaags hair ;)
Why?
tits
Oh, if she had nipples you would already be able to see them even with the hair, there isn't much difference without it.
***** ya its pretty obvious, why would they add that anyway? there would be no reason to. i just said it as a joke.
the blowdart ones the best lol
i wonder what was the use for that talisman 🥵☝🏻
to me the black dagger look like a black knight weapon
What is that location?
first bonfire after the gardian in the dlc, one of the numerous weird places in this game...
i amm fucking crying , why did they remove those cool things?
Nice
I don't think that's a torch...
is this a berserk reference?????
2:18 BERSEEERK
Disculpame podes enseñar a modificar el juego en pc. Sabes algo de modificacion de rom de neogeo. Gracias👍🇦🇷
idk y ur dark moon blade is blue lol
The Spiky Pole is a Berserk reference
While it was most likely added as a Berserk reference, it's actually a real weapon called the mancatcher.
