03:08 I was looking at it with a weird look and thinking "what's the problem? that's just an old regular crystal lizard" until i realized it is the crystal lizard model of Demon's Souls.
ow pain.... fully fleshed out bed of chaos that's actually fight-able ... this game is a gem but seeing this cut content screams that it could have been a crown jewel
+MrDibara what'd be really cool is if they were to make a patch similar to scholar of the first sin, where they rearranged stuff in dark souls 1 as well as adding in cut content. Pertaining to the bed of chaos i for one think it'd be cool if you did the puzzel portion then the floor collapsed under you (in a cutscene) dropping you to a lower level where you fight that monsterous thing for essentially a round 2.
bumbertyr1 Now THAT'S a great idea! Too bad there won't be happening anything like that. They've already launched the Prepare to Die Edition (which is basically the same game, only with the Artorias DLC included) and as far as I know, they're pretty satisfied with that. Oh well, can't have everything I guess. I also kept wishing for the unused colossi to be featured in some way or another in the the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus collection, but... somethings are just out of our power, I suppose.

The flying drakes was definitely a great concept and idea but it was too glitchy because they clipped through the floor, I think that’s why they cut it.
beleive it or not the thing that looks like the sanctuary guardian and necromorph thingy were supposed to be in Lost Izalith. There's unused models for swamp flora in Lost Izalith's map data and in concept art it looked like a swamp. Because of these things and the several unused enemies like the Leo demon (name for sanctuary guardian looking thing) and an upright, moving Blighttown parasite plus a free roaming undead dragon upperbody it was likely Lost Izalith was supposed to be a massive swamp with all these swamp like enemies. Bandai Namco probably say this and wanted Lost Izalith to stay a lava area and the Fromsoft devs, not knowing what to do, rushed the area with dragon bootys.
Does it really make sense for a swamp to be near lava and demons though I don't know about dark souls lore but it feels like blight town must've been the place for pyromancers at some point and the izalith the source of all the pyromancer techniques, hence being in lava.

Her lore is amazing and honestly out of the 4 lords, she intrigued me the most. but im sad how the witch of izalith fight was reduced to shitty jumping platform segment. If only fromsoft had more time. The lost izalith and its bosses couldve been so much better.

The guy with the golden armor set looks more like something you'd see in Ninja Gaiden. Kinda glad they cut him tbh, I don't really feel like he fits the tone of Dark Souls.
Definitely glad they modified him into the four kings, the armor is pretty similar and the both have machete like swords, so this is likely going to be closest we’ll ever get to see an uncorrupted version of them.

+Father Gregori I wouldn't call it cut content because it only existed in unfinished prototype form, and only bits and pieces of it. Unfinished content maybe, but "Cut content" makes it sound like they intentionally did it to create dlc.
This video was uploaded almost 2 years ago and it's just getting an influx of comments. Strange. Either way, some interesting stuff here, I wonder why some of it got cut.

skull clot no one gets to see it though, unless they leave it intentionally as Easter eggs for hackers? and if you made it you can just save it for yourself anyway I guess rather than leave in the finished game
Possibly, or it's stuff that didn't have the chance to actually make it into the game and remained in the source code/data. Considering the fact that there's quite a number of cut content in Dark Souls, it's likely that due to time constraints and budgeting, Dark Souls is, technically, unfinished (or at least "unfinished" in the sense that what was finalized and released wasn't its originally intended full self). Proof of this possibility is plainly evident in Lost Izalith; the landscape is so flat and barren throughout most of the area to the point that you can see the skybox in some places (it's also a bit of a heavy strain on the eyes with that bright, glowing lava pool surrounding the player all throughout but I digress). I've also seen that, apparently, one of the developers or director of the game was disappointed with how the Bed of Chaos battle went, like maybe it was supposed to be more extensive or have another boss in that general area of the game or something. I'm just relaying information that I've seen around, so I urge everyone who reads this to take my comment with a grain of salt and do their own research for legitimate confirmation. I'm also happily open to be corrected on anything if needed, heheheh ^^; I wholeheartedly love Dark Souls as it is but I can't help but feel that we sorta lost out on "what could have been" with all this cut content, ya know?
Altering the code after having so much added to the game may have consequences like creating several code errors. Easier to isolate the assets. Moreover, if the developers decide to do so, a future expansion might end up using those assets... not that at this point they will release one for DS. Would be nice to see the game remade as it was originally intended.
7:21 Gwyn was trained by Tony Hawk, but Tony hawk said: This is a forbidden technique, never use it and one day I'll teach you the 900. That's why he never uses it in the game, but he keeps training it when your PS3 or PC are sleeping.
Bozmund Os New Londo was originally intended to be the opposite of Anor Londo. While Anor Londo is bright and beautiful, New Londo was decrepit and creepy. Undead King Jar-El was supposed to be the main boss in New Londo (not 4 Kings), and he was supposed to be the antithesis of Gwyn.
Not suprising since they also reused the voices from King Allant. So that might implie that this charakter wa smeant to be important or had some significances to it
I feel like they reused a lot of assets in some parts of the game. Like Bed of Chaos being retextured into Seath as an example. The golden darkwraight knight could have been the four kings or a knight of them. Or it could be a very early prototype of Artorias before he got redesigned. I think they should've kept that move of Lord Gwyn at the end though, it looks cool asl.
If you look closer, you can see that golden darkwraith has the same face model as the 4 kings Same general design too - 4 kings have that thing on their left shoulder, just bigger
That's usually what happens in game development. People always wanted the cut dungeons from Wind Waker added back into the remaster, but they were stripped and used as ideas in future games already
The Bear Set would be absolutely amazing with Havel/Gough/Fang Boar and other combinations of armor. Too bad the remastered is probably not gonna feature a single piece of cut content from the original.
Just the more tentacleness gives a vibe of the amygdallas legs. Since miyazaki went straight from dark souls 1 to working on bloodborne he may of taken a few ideas from this bed of chaos design and implemented them into amygdala
Im very confused, i remember the elite cleric armour was sold by patches and the black mage student one was inside a room in the lower part of undead burg...and the blue dragons too. Im pretty sure they stayed in the game
You're right about the Black Sorcerer set, but in appearance it's a black recolour of the regular Sorcerer set. The video shows off Rickert of Vinheim's Mage Smith set, which is unobtainable without hacking. *EDIT:* Not that it matters all that much, but to clarify, the Black Sorcerer set's in Sen's Fortress and the regular Sorcerer set's in the Undead Burg. The drakes stayed in the game in the Valley of Drakes, but those flight states and animations that went along with them were scrapped. In the final game, they can swoop for a few seconds but don't have nearly as much flight, and can even fall into bottomless pits and die if they don't land properly.
No, it's Undead King Jar'el or something like that, one of the four kings of New Londo. Gwin's son was going to be Andre of Astora, if I recall correctly.
Lost Son of Gywn is heavily pointed Towards the Nameless king of Darksouls3 Known as Faraam or something like that(altho initially People taught it was Andre or Solaire)
+Nathan B There is no confirmation tha the Nameless King is Gwyn first born, but still i agree with *DeAndre Clark.* Cause there is many stuff that point to it that cant be ignored. His armor talks about the GOD OF WAR and heir to sunlight wich was Gwyn's first born, also the Dragonslayer SwordSpear is a weapon from the Age of Gods and Gwyn's first born used a Great Spear. Also he's called "Nameless King" and Gwyn's first born was stripped of his deific status and his name and deeds erased from history by his father as punishment for allying himself with the dragons(not the everlasting ones). So everthing points to the Nameless King. PS: Besides im not sure cause i didnt play DS3 but i think you can find Ornstein's armor in the arena were you fight him and Ornstein left Anor Londo in search of Gwyn's first born, and since there is no body he probably found him there and left the armor.
@@eiyu-okuroryokan2634 I believe that Ornsteins armor being stripped and left outside representsbhim pursuing the path of the dragon upon finding that the firstborn has aligned with them. If you wanna get really crazy with it, one could even believe that Ornstein himself turned into the storm drake that the nameless king is riding, for he absorbs his power the same as our old buddies dumb and dumber.
@@GammaFields I get that and i tought the same. Since it is said that Ornstein still believed in Gwyns firtsborn even after he was exiled and that he pursued him, that would mean that if his armor is in the Archdragon Peak that Ornstein found him and that the Nameless King is Gwyns firstborn. And the description on the armor plus the broken statues that some bits rememble the Nameless King would all mean it's him, all i meant with my comment is that there is no definitive proof of it but i do believe the Nameless King is Gwyns firstborn. Besides all other things like him using lightning atacks, his weapon being the same has Ornstein. And since Ornstein followed in his footsteps one would assume that if his armor is next to a guy using the same weapon and taking into acount all other facts then everything points to him being Gwyns firstborn. Besides the broken statues of the Warriors of Sunlight covenent all have a Swordspear weapon.
Real shame they decided to cut out the break-dancing lizard.

RemTreeFiddy it is kinda hard to tell, but that guy is marvelous Chester from the dlc
RemTreeFiddy So would the Chester Zweihander incorporate kicks into its move set? Thats pretty neat if that's the case.
Nicolas Villanueva oh whoa, I had just seen that he had a cut black claymore in some early promo content, and never put 2 and 2 together.

I'm also happily open to be corrected on anything if needed, heheheh ^^;
I wholeheartedly love Dark Souls as it is but I can't help but feel that we sorta lost out on "what could have been" with all this cut content, ya know?
Sometimes removing the code entirely is more difficult than just leaving the content in an unreachable place
Altering the code after having so much added to the game may have consequences like creating several code errors. Easier to isolate the assets. Moreover, if the developers decide to do so, a future expansion might end up using those assets... not that at this point they will release one for DS. Would be nice to see the game remade as it was originally intended.
That lizard dance OMFG 3:30!! LMAO
I wish we would have gotten a chance to fight Jar-Eel. I think Fromsoft might have used his assets as the base for the Pthumerian Descendant.
i believe there was for sure at least one mod that readded him. don't remember its name currently, but prod played it
1:57 Berserk reference btw.
To the catchpole used by one of Mozgus’ executioners?
@@gutstheberserker4378 yes
Well i mean the catchpole was a real weapon but yeh b-reference i guess
@@danksoulsv1107 Everything is a Berserk reference if you look hard enough
The whole game is a Berserk reference btw.
3:11: Yeet, dougie rock.
The bed of chaos kinda looks like seath
maybe that's why they cut it? though i wish we had an actual fight against the bed of chaos, rather than the... thing we got in the release version
7:21 Gwyn was trained by Tony Hawk, but Tony hawk said: This is a forbidden technique, never use it and one day I'll teach you the 900. That's why he never uses it in the game, but he keeps training it when your PS3 or PC are sleeping.
+Kavitator Damn I'll just do a heelflip then!
SirSeppuku DO IT!
I'mma do it on my balcony :3
Wide angle camera is just perfect
SirSeppuku Okay, as long as you don't jump over a chopper it's alright!
4:50 Nameless King looking sharp
Looking raggedy
Thats jar eel
3:08 he do be kinda lit though
1:59 HOOOLLLLYYY SHIIIT! A DIRECT BERSERK REFERENCE!
How can it be a reference if Dark Souls was released many years before Berserk?
1un4cy dude, berserk first published in 1989, its on volume 37 now.
FINALLY someone in this comments is a man of culture. Don't think I don't see you Rickert (of Vinheim)
Gywn has style damn it, why didn't they put it.
Cause someone that is hollowed out would not really do that.
Especially that flip
Because it is "undead king Jar El" whoever he was... I think there's lore for that guy though...
Honestly by his appearance, fighting style (4:46) and the crown at 0:55, I’m guessing that’s flame lord Flann!
That's actually a prototype of what became the Four Kings. His name was Undead King Jar-Eel iirc.
Not suprising since they also reused the voices from King Allant.
So that might implie that this charakter wa smeant to be important or had some significances to it
@@Hairo-rv9klJar-Jar Binks*
I feel like they reused a lot of assets in some parts of the game. Like Bed of Chaos being retextured into Seath as an example. The golden darkwraight knight could have been the four kings or a knight of them. Or it could be a very early prototype of Artorias before he got redesigned.
I think they should've kept that move of Lord Gwyn at the end though, it looks cool asl.
If you look closer, you can see that golden darkwraith has the same face model as the 4 kings
Same general design too - 4 kings have that thing on their left shoulder, just bigger
That's usually what happens in game development. People always wanted the cut dungeons from Wind Waker added back into the remaster, but they were stripped and used as ideas in future games already
Man that armour is soo cool. Why sould they cut it
"Various animations for Gwynevere ", hmmm, seems that you didnt include it for some reason...;3
4:40 is that the bed of chaos ?
Mario D Yeah, a cut model where you fight it head on.
No it's just a cut Amygdala design from Bloodborne :P
The Bear Set would be absolutely amazing with Havel/Gough/Fang Boar and other combinations of armor. Too bad the remastered is probably not gonna feature a single piece of cut content from the original.
OneShallStandOneShallFall It was already out by the time you said that and of course it's a remake not a remaster.
I cant think of a username it's a remaster
When Gwyn does that backstep flurry it looks like he was just startled by something.
1:06 Looks like we know where they got the idea for the Crown of the Old Iron King in Dark Souls 2
I will never forgive fromsoft for cutting the dancing lizards.
+Thumprsbro play demon's souls
4:22 is this what they used as a concept for the amygdalas in bloodborne
Looks much closer to the bed of chaos but yeah, maybe some inspiration
@@grayprincezote57preceptsag51 it is bed of chaos I'm pretty sure
Just the more tentacleness gives a vibe of the amygdallas legs. Since miyazaki went straight from dark souls 1 to working on bloodborne he may of taken a few ideas from this bed of chaos design and implemented them into amygdala
@@grayprincezote57preceptsag51 most probably yeah
Funny, I thought of Seath instead of Bed of Chaos. How it drags through the floor, has no lower body and the little wings, totally Seath IMO
Im very confused, i remember the elite cleric armour was sold by patches and the black mage student one was inside a room in the lower part of undead burg...and the blue dragons too. Im pretty sure they stayed in the game
Cleric armor, not Elite Cleric armor. And I believe you're thinking of the regular mage set.
In the final game, they can swoop for a few seconds but don't have nearly as much flight, and can even fall into bottomless pits and die if they don't land properly.
honestly would have enjoyed a lot of these in the base game :/
Whoa! I had no idea Gwyn could do all of that 360 shit!
Gotta love dark souls 1, the only souls game to have lightning dragons
youwatch2muchtv Drakes.
bro zullie took everything from you
what the hell happened
real
she showed even more actually
I don't get why Gwyn doesn't get to keep those moves.
At 4:21 is that an Amaygdala?
but seriously, imagine the bed of Chaos NOT being an annoying pitfall fight.
Oh shit, I think I'm gonna finally kill it! *brushed off into a hole*
Either that or a new souls game. Bloodborne did werewolves, dark souls did zombies, demon souls did ghosts, what else is there?
the new souls like will be vampire-themed, it appears (more than bloodborne). Check out bandai namco's channel
+wampXs Not a From game so i really wouldn't count it with the Soulsborne games.
is it not?
4:57 is that the son of gwin?
No, it's Undead King Jar'el or something like that, one of the four kings of New Londo. Gwin's son was going to be Andre of Astora, if I recall correctly.
@@luigiesio Gwyn
Lost Son of Gywn is heavily pointed Towards the Nameless king of Darksouls3 Known as Faraam or something like that(altho initially People taught it was Andre or Solaire)
3:12 omg so fucking cute!
Why is it bashing its head?
That Bed of Chaos looks like Amygdala a little bit
+Saitama Don't punch me please!
Gwyn at the end had same leg armor as nameless king. Can't wait to finally play this game
Nathan B Nameless King is Gwyn's first son
+Nathan B
There is no confirmation tha the Nameless King is Gwyn first born, but still i agree with *DeAndre Clark.*
Cause there is many stuff that point to it that cant be ignored.
@@GammaFields
I get that and i tought the same.
This boss at 5:00 looks like Vlad von Carstein armor plus head of Konrad von Carstein, nice. In case you're wondering they're Vampires from Warhammer.
Quingu89 he looks like one of the 4 kings
