@@RustemKonan Unless I am forgetting something I don't think there is any evidence that explicitly suggests Artorias was actually chosen to stop the Abyss. I won't get into the debate over which is stronger, but I think it's fair to say that Lore accurate Ornstein would probably be stronger than he is in-game considering he appears in a mid-game duo fight so he has to be much weaker than a late game (DLC even) single fight.

Its absolutely fair, Artorias is an end game dlc boss with buffed health and damage. Plus its Artorias’ fault for being cornered
Smough regenerating is perfectly fine. Despite his large size, him and Ornstein are really squishy so it's only fair that he gets a mid-battle boost.
