There’s a couple of others I’ve seen since i made the video, theres one called Fidlock which has more of a twist action and also I saw another one with 3 connection points shortly after I got mine but I can’t remember the name of it. I’m still perfectly happy with the Monkii Cage 😊
Hmmm... I was wondering if they did a fitting which clipped to the bag mount. If I have a bag with me, the bottle can go in the bag. If I don't, the cage can clip to the luggage block. I was thinking of a triathlon style mount... I have to take tge saddle off to get the bike in the boot of my car anyway. What do you think??
Hi S M, I’ve never seen a luggage mount clip (that’s not to say such a thing doesn’t exist). If you’re thinking Brompton Electric, be aware there are only two standard Brompton bags and the small version won’t hold a bottle. Standard Brompton has a lot more choices but the two types aren’t interchangeable. If you mean a saddle type Triathlon bottle cage then yes I think that would work, its something I considered but I have a camera setup mounted below the saddle so it doesn’t work for me. The only other thing, if you are getting en electric is that I was in touch with a gent who made what I’ll call a bag extension that goes on the front of the small electric bag and had space for a bottle. I can find the details if you’re interested.
nice informative video. i just got one too. do you have any idea how tall a bottle should be so it does not interfere with the handphone mount placed at where you have it installed? thanks!
Hi, the bottle I'm using is a Chilly's bottle clone and is 260mm 10.25 inches high. BUT it now just catches the back of the phone because I've tilted the phone holder back to get better visibility. So, if you had something a little shorter say around the 225mm or 9 inch mark you should be well clear. I'll do a quick video tomorrow to explain
@@oldmanwith thanks for the initiative and effort. Very much appreciated. I'm using a klean kanteen and i would need to measure it first. Not too sure if the bottle cage is installed further down, would that be possible or advisable?
Haha I’ve not had that said before but thank you (I think 😂😂) I’ve been compared to Arthur Smith the comedian before but that might be just because I’m a miserable old g*t 😁 Of course I’d also say that Mr Knowles is somewhat younger than me, thus I had the voice first 😊 So he must be using mine…
PERFECT!!! You've convinced me to buy it! Thanks Paul. I especially liked the folded views.
Very helpful, well filmed, thank you 😊
Thank you David, appreciate it 👍
Thanks for the video, I’ve got the same bike, I’ve got a velcro attached bottle bag at the moment but this looks better.

Hi, yes I've seen a few like that available, it just wasn't the solution I was looking for.
