Have never witnessed such conflicting emotions in the crowd in my life- some were crying their eyes out, whilst others were kissing as if their life depended on it. This song is incredible as it can extract such powerful and differing emotions from one person to the next. So glad I got to witness it in my lifetime!
I Watched Them in Copenhagen yesterday and he did this incredible tribute to Ian. Everybody was singing.... They were amazing. I never knew about Joy division until yesterday. Just this one song. I Will listen more deffinately...
When routine bites hard And ambitions are low And resentment rides high But emotions won't grow And we're changing our ways Taking different roads Love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again Why is the bedroom so cold? Turned away on your side Is my timing that flawed? Our respect run so dry? Yet there's still this appeal That we've kept through our lives But love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again Do you cry out in your sleep? All my failings exposed Gets a taste in my mouth As desperation takes hold And it's something so good Just can't function no more? Love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear up apart again
@@adriasalarich I'm very well aware of this and i would have to assume that everybody there also knows this. My point was that it wasn't necessary to have joy division scrolling in the background.
@@16rpm1 Whilst JD are legendary, they were playing at Bestival, so I guess it's hardly guaranteed that the crowd were in the know. However, I agree that it's not the best idea artistically. And this version might have the right notes but it doesn't really have any of the original's soul. The version we know and love was a creation of the producer Martin Hannett. He made so many mixes of it and wasn't even a fan of the release version, but his alternate mixes just expose the flaws more. I really think he nailed the single version but couldn't see the wood for the trees by that point. OK, maybe I'm rambling now lol

Is this Stephen Morris?
Loved it. Video does it no justice at all. The crowd was louder for a start.

Bernard's yelling is a bit silly but fantastic tune nonetheless
Too bad the drummer isn't playing the hi-hat like he did in the original, it really makes the song propelled.

I have a theory that if you were only allowed to listen to contemporary music that the current suicide rate would be over 50%.
I don't think that is a song that people can dance hearing to it...At least they didn't use to.
Why in the world would you, as a band, think that you need love will tear us apart and joy division scrolling in the background?
Why not? New Order is the band Joy Division's members created after Ian's death.
@@adriasalarich I'm very well aware of this and i would have to assume that everybody there also knows this. My point was that it wasn't necessary to have joy division scrolling in the background.
@@16rpm1 Ooh ok. I think it's a nice way to honour Ian and the band though.
Closest thing you’ll ever get to seeing joy division live.
Makes it feel like you’re at a joy division concert as opposed to new order covering them.

2:10 Is it just me or is he really out of tune?
It sounds kinda too bossa nova to me, too little resentment and sadness this song should have
