At least he doesn't mime and pretend it's live. Can always tell because when they start adlibbing, they sound different... Plenty of examples here on youtube

And he's just 58 years old! And yeah, without Peter Hook's powerful bass lines New Order don't sound the same way anymore. Could you imagine, for instance, U2 without The Edge? Depeche Mode without Dave Gahan (or Martin Gore)? R.E.M. without Michael Stipe? Oasis without one of the Gallaghers? I find it all very sad.

As for Hooky, he's holding up quite well for himself, and I completely disagree about him being a "stupid knob". I don't dislike any of the original band members, but they certainly aren't New Order without Hooky (and I said the same when Gillian was absent).
