This song is pure melancholy, watching the video (original) and seeing the artists is a bomb of contrast that transmits things to my heart, a great band that lives quality Rock forever!
I can still remember the first time I saw the video for the song... I was immediately enthusiastic and of course I was impressed by the bassline! The whole album is class !!
Same, I was a new fan having recently discovered their back catalogue. Was confused at first thinking they looked too young in the 'crystal' music video until I realised they had young actors playing their instruments. At least that was the video released in Australia
I was like 11 or 13 years old when I saw the video for this song on a local tv channel. Then I got the chance to listen it again when I was in high school and I’ve been hooked to their music since then. I’m seeing them for the first time ever live in two weeks 🥹
DUDE right????? I literally would probably pass out and die. If I actually saw them live in front of me I’m gonna go see Peter Hook in September. I don’t know if I can handle it.
From the first day I listened to it after opening the CD, it became one of the essentials in the soundtrack of my life. other than that it was the best tribute they could do to Ian.
Tribute to Ian? you mean elegia? that song was written for Ian. This came out decades later and Bernard Sumner has even said the lyrics don't really mean anything
@@zygmanfroid9709 that album has more of a "Joy" sound to it, plus it was released shortly before the 20th anniversary of Ian's departure. Without a doubt, this is how Joy Division would have sounded at the turn of the millennium.
Is it just me or does anyone else LOVE the intro and wish @neworder would release a longer version of it? It is sooo soothing to listen too. I use it for meditation. The Piano tune that starts out and plays through, underneath the whole tune. Then comes in the "strings" sounding chords. THEN comes in this woman's beautiful voice. I used Audicy and created my own mp3 just of it.
After listening you guys for the first time back in 94 when I was kid, I waited the rest of the 90s waiting for a new album. Hence Get Ready became my favourite one. Love you guys.
IMO, it's even their best, musically, in the album version with the long instrumental part before the finale. Ofc, Blue Monday was their greatest hit and will remain their signature anthem, but Crystal and then Plastic have the best dance grooves, I think. Knowing NO for close to 40 years now, I still love most of their work from Ceremony thru Sirens' Call, while Be A Rebel can't really convince me anymore. I'm afraid Bernard's voice has just grown old and worn thin, unfortunately... Long live their preserved recordings! PS: Hooky's really missing in the lineup. And maybe Plastic should've been the swan 🦢 song...
This song I love this song so much, I remember when I was twelve and saw the video for the first time

@@jumofi - Is it the World Cup starting today ? ;-) Fantastic Concert !!!
Hope I get a chance to go to your live concert in my lifetime
extraordinär!
Since when did Bernard Sumners vocal turn into Paul Heaton
The Killers 🤍
Singing live is not Bernard Sumner's forte
the lyrics are stoopid but the song is brilliant
Jesus on the bassguitar ! 🙂
I've just noticed that Bernard sings "It was Sumner" instead of "It was summer" here
Or maybe he's just messing up his part as usual, who knows
New Order's last great song IMO. Would have made for an excellent swan song.

Bern is still rather handsome here, hes gone a bit craggy now sadly
one of the better songs off maybe their worst album
Vicious streak and primitive notion are brilliant.
Ah the end of New Order.....
Welcome to New Order V2.01 - Poor Bernadette's Vocals have gone too 🫣
Not the same with out hooky
