It is harder to work out your live to get to the build than the building of it is! It took me several years of planing before I could get started, but being stubborn helps! Lol! Best/Roy
It does rock! Lol! We have not been shy about taking her out in rough water where her performance has surprised those along for the ride! The hull shape is not just a flat scow but is more refined with "V" sections on the sides. This and it's shorter stance and being very buoyant, helps the boat rise to oncoming large waves, yet her weight seem right as she punches down smaller chop, smoothing out the ride! At 8' beam she has a wide stance for it's length and yes will rock but responds in a way to give confidence when aboard. We have never had a wave splash a window and your coffee can sit on the counter and not spill! We sit just 10" on our couches in comfort, not swaying side to side high up on a fly bridge! If you're ever in the area I'd be happy to get you out to see for yourself Royce! Best/Roy
It took us around 600 hrs Tony. One couple extended their build and took only 500 hrs and another modified the plans considerably and took 1000 hrs, so it can vary depending on the modifications etc. Check out my web page Tony for more info. RoyDesignedThat.com

It takes me time Rick. Next month the boat should be close to finished and then I'll test it for the season. I'll get to drawing CROW in the fall (I have some drawings already) so it will be ready for beginning of next year. Keep in mind I also am working a regular job so I'm trying not to be impatient but it would be nice if things went faster!
BUILDING THIS BOAT IS REALLY EXCITING ONCE YOU GET GOING YOU CAN'T STOP ! BUY THE PLANS TO BUILD THE BOAT YOU WON'T REGRET IT ! 👍

Yes, this is Richard and Mary's build! They did a great job and should be very pleased. "QUEEN MARY" won "Best in Show" at a wooden boat show!!!

The beauty of one off wooden boats is they evolve with each builder! A wonderful natural process! Often lost in our production line world!

No problem Royce, I should clarify that we sit 10" above the water line, with 6" draft our benches are 16".
