- People who adopt Hindu practices are often branded as a convert. But conversion is a western term which has emerged from the Abrahamic faiths. Unlike these religions Hindu tradition does not have a doctrine which claims exclusivity of Truth, so there is no such thing as conversion. It does however have multiple pathways which lead to transcendence. Initiation is the formal commitment to one of these pathways. It is not about a Hindu avoiding damnation, or seeing their way as the only way to Truth, it is about choosing one methodology which allows them to go deep. This video highlights the key theological differences which define whether somebody is getting initiated or converted.

@@sk....3049 According to Geeta, shudras are those people who have never tried to learn any skill in their lifetime. Such people who have no skill finally have to support their livelihood and food by working under Vaishyas, Kshatriyas, and Brahmins.
Even an uneducated boy who is born to a Brahmin family is a shudra. Brahmins, Kshatriyas and vaishya can be a shudra too.
Similarly, a shudra can also become a Brahmin. Eg: Valmiki.

So , as a human baby everyone is considered shudra.a person Caste cannot be decided until he or she is 11 year old atleast and then from then onward ,it keeps changing by the level of spirituality/truth seeking/moksha. Caste system is right because it distribute people into classes so they can better understand their spiritual seeking way.

The great thing about Hinduism is that you dont have to go to temples, recite mantras, read religious books daily or periodically.
There is no prescription for Hindus. You do your calling. One can be irreligious and still be a Hindu.
Sanatana Dharma is a path of realization. You have complete freedom to decide your path.
Hindus are taught these things early in life. That openness and permission to seek also makes them vulnerable to planned conversion by proselytizing religions.
I used to think all gods are the same. Once I learned about the exclusivity of Christianity and Islam I closed my mind to those two religions.

Once you experience Hinduism you feel as if you was always a part of it that's the beauty of it, nothing feels foreign and unworthy.
In my Sampraday it's a bit different as being initiated (diksha) means you are a sant.
To be in the Sampraday, you must recieve Guru Mantra from our Acharaya. This mantra must be chanted along with the mala (prayer beads).

Hinduism is the only religion (In fact culture) which is not book-based religion, books come into existence by 5000 years ago through meditation (Vedas, etc). Hindus main aim is enlightenment, Liberation, freedom from birth and death. In the Gita, God guides him (Arjuna) to enlightenment and righteousness (Dharma) not to stick to him. Hindus are seekers, not believers ( like other religions).
Hindus follow karma yoga (good actions). Meditation, Yoga (union with the divine), self-knowledge (who am I), penance, watching breath are primary to them and book/s are secondary to them. Other religions concept is one god exists but Hindus concept is the only god exists in everything and everywhere nothing else.
Hindus say body and mind do not belong to you one day you have to leave them. Only your real self is yours find out that you ll be enlightened. Hindus say all living beings are divine. They say both waking state and sleep state are an illusion(Maya). Actual Hinduism is Sanatana Dharma(Now days it is a relative term) means an Eternal Religion.

Thanks for sharing this. I do want to challenge the idea that initiation rites does not have a salvation/damnation component. Of course, if a person is getting baptized only to be saved from a mis-guided belief of not being eternally punished, this is not a true understanding of Christian initiation. However, salvation and damnation language as one aspect of initiation does not equal false initiation or impure initiation. It all depends on one's understanding of salvation and damnation. Liberation, starting one's spiritual path and a proper understanding of salvation theology does not need to be mutually exclusive.
sanatan dharma is not a religion , its science. its so vast that it can't be explained or written in a book like bible or quran, thats why we have so many holy books. sanatan dharma is 10000 years old or may be older because its not a religion. its like knowledge from our ancestors.

I'm an Atheist. Proud to be Hindu. I don't choose the Path of Bhakti (Devotion to God), I choose the Path of Dharma (Righteous Living) because I don't believe in Hindu Gods. For me, I treat Dharma as above anything else.
Go read the Story of Yudhistira (Dharmaraya) and the Dog from Mahabharata. He denied Heaven for the sake of his Dog, Because his Dharma was to not give up on a Loyal Friend (Dog) that accompanied him. He is my Inspiration !!!

You can be an atheist and still accept the concept of the Supreme if you believe the totality of existence _is_ 'God' or at least conscious(ness) - not some separate or distant divine being.

Hinduism is technically not a religion but a set of guidelines to put a person on spiritual path. You can be anybody, even an atheist, but if u are interested in following a spiritual path, you need to look at Hinduism. It is not for Believers because Hinduism wants a person to seek and not to Believe. Our Gurus say clearly, u believe in something you don’t know - so SEEK.

Profoundly explained! Sanathana Dharma, Hinduism is the attainment of Consciousness. For thousands of years, across the globe through all cultures and religions- the many who attained enlightenment spoke of the same wisdom, Consciousness in different ways. Ved (4 bo oks)
Puran ( 19 books)
Granth (3 books)
Upnishad ( Many books)
In one Puran ( Bhavisya Puran/ भविष्य पुराण) written more than 6000 years ago , it is mentioned that how ,when and from where Islam , Christianity and Bodh religion will start.
And every other things.....
This Puran tells everything from writing date to the end of humanity........and Other books also tells about recreation of humanity...

The knowledge of Hinduism from Indians is zero comparing to westerners nowadays. I become spell bound the way they explain Srimath Gita n Vethas.. No chance.. Hinduism suiting them very much, they appear like heavenly being when they dress in Hindu costumes. Their face glow like 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱 becoz they truly love Sri Krishna.
