I think your ability to adjust/troubleshoot on the fly is very underrated. It seems like you manage to turn out something beautiful no matter what kind of curve the material throws at you. It reminds me a lot of of the challenges of smoking meat. Maybe that's why I'm fascinated by it. Or maybe I've had a few drinks and I'm getting a little too philosophical about it all. Anyway, beautiful and entertaining work as always, thanks again!

I think it looks good with matte and gloss both. There is a fine trend with spraying cars where they put matte black onto a large part with a glossy logo on top, making the matte look sort of black and the glossed part look more black, really showing off the logo. So having both is not problematic in other people's eyes.

We called that mixture French Polish when I was a kid in Nova Scotia. Great finish. Worked great for hardwood like maple or softer more absorbent wood like pine depending on how you mixed it.
