I saw the Flying yankee at Babylon once last year and at Seaford where he was flying through the station gave me a friendly toot, very nice talking to him.

You are very welcome thank you for the great content. You are quite the train expert down here in Florida the big deal is Brightline linking Miami to Orlando 125 mph passenger service they have been doing a lot of testing in May tickets go on sale I am thinking by June they will be up and running.

I will never stop loving my trains. 60 years on and still fascinated by them.
The LIRR? Not so much. The 19th century railroad system than can "barely" function in the 21st century. Creep, crawl....creep, crawl.
Insanity. Almost an hour to go from Jamaica to Huntington. Gosh what a joke and outright disgrace.
Slowest rail system on the planet.
Never designed for this sort of commuter rail travel.

M9's are awfully squeaky and don't sound put together well. Not liking this zoom thing going on. Train looks like it's not moving !

Tim, You know how much I appreciate the head end video. Hopefully there will be much more to come.
This line holds some great memories for me. Years ago when the third rail was extended from Hicksville to Huntington, it was quite an event. I extensively filmed the construction project on color Super 8 movie film. So accommodating were the workmen that they allowed me to go inside of the substation building with my movie camera at Huntington. When service began on the new electrification, I went on a fan trip using MP-54 cars. I filmed the trip, which included the rail yards in Brooklyn and the Belmont Race Track station.
Seeing the Syosset Station in your video brings back great memories for me. I had become good friends with a wealthy couple who had a gorgeous home in Syosset. I spent some wonderful times visiting there, where I was treated like a king. They had an enormous collection of quite valuable "O" scale brass trolley and interurban car models in glass cases. Long story short, I purchased one of the very rare brass model trolley cars of the line where I live. It cost me a fortune and I have treasured that priceless model for many decades. I'm the only person they had ever sold a model to and it took quite a bit of pleading at that time.
While I've got your attention, I was informed that MARC in Maryland is considering extending service to Newark, Delaware.....where connections to SEPTA would be made. Also, I 'again' brought up the NJT window issue at our recent meeting. Our CEO informed me that Rutgers has been asked to assist us in finding a way to solve the cleaning chemical solution scratching the glass problem, so that it always appears dirty. Our head of Rail Operations will be sending me the findings as they come in. Stay tuned.

@@3985uprr speaking of Amtrak, i'm surprised that you haven't done a video while riding on the 43-Pennsylvanian from New York to Pittsburgh!!! I say this, is because i'm planning on taking that train out to Johnstown in a couple of weeks (should everything go alright) to visit a friend of mine out there, considering the town itself is home to that massive flood that killed over 2200 people on May 31, 1889

You'd have to get permission from the engineer/conductor, and make sure you don't block the emergency exit (some of the center windows on the cab cars do function as emergency doors)
