On the lines of buying a designer t-shirt. I was always on the side of never buying a designer t-shirt because I never thought it could be worth it. Well, at least that was until I got myself a Burberry Prorsum t-shirt way back in the day and I was SHOCKED. That bugger wicked away sweat like nothing, never got damaged by deodorant, the construction genuinely was shockingly good and the prints too were really interestingly done. So not only did it have details that only I would notice, but it genuinely had me looking better than any other t-shirt I had every owned. From there, fully fully convinced luxury t-shirts could be worth it (obviously not all are, some brands use blanks and upcharge, but for Burb Prors Id 100% buy and buy again)
honestly i gotta disagree with the margiela gat take. I have a surplus pair from ebay that i got for 60 shipped and they have lasted me such a long time. I will agree, that the margiela gats will probably be better constructed and more comfortable, but GATS off eBay can hang.
I’ve got both, they’re great in their own ways. Margielas are as comfortable as a Nike trainer, and feel incredibly high quality. The GAT is my throw on everyday beater I don’t have to worry about

@@6rain875 I disagree, Berlins may not look like diaper pants but they have nice quality and if you get the ones with the zipper pockets so things dont fall off while youre doing something, then you have a pretty nice pair of upscale sweatpants with good quality
Personally I’ll rarely buy a piece I don’t think will retain some if not all of its value. Taste swings in waves, I used to love Rick Owens two years ago but as I’ve got older am getting less into ‘streetwear’ fits. Would be a shame and very expensive if I couldn’t trade pieces in and out of my wardrobe

Good alternative repro to the Margiela are the Adidas BW Army. They're basically the original GATs with an Adidas logo

Adidas actually originally made the GAT, they retro’d them in like 2017 (ish) as the BW army
They had made them for the German army without branding, the BW army does have the branding though. They’re difficult to find apart from overseas eBay
