Is Penelope's 100 Proof Toasted Bourbon Worth $70?

Currently drinking a Char 2 and I can't say enough good things about it. Interested to see if you've tried lower char levels and felt differently.

I have not found any lower char Penelope, unfortunately. I’d love to try it, though!

I just got the toasted char 4/100 proof/ 5 year. definitely got a cinnamon note on the nose and bit on the palette. Its nice to try once, but I feel like i shouldve just went with the 4 grain standard offering first which was half the price.

Some of my colleagues have found fantastic toasted barrel bottles from Penelope. There must be some really good ones out there. 🤷‍♂️

I have a char 3, 110 / 4 yr / heavy toast I really like. I’m an MGP snob and think it’s a good value at 70ish (give or take some for your state).
My naive opinion (had a few different bottles so far) is the char is doing a lot. Lower char has scored better for me.

I get a pasty ending and smooth is in the middle the first note is cinnamon.
It’s not worth 70. I just got this for 48 at ABC.
This isn’t a 5 year old batch.
Even if you seep it. No. My batch is 24-301.
Classy bottle but no. Buy this only on sale
