I get it it's not practical to pedal it but by adding it it becomes an electric bike and tiptoes around the legal issues

    • @Toopyyy

I don't get it? you don't actually HAVE to pedal it right? it just has to have operable pedals. not really much of an inconvenience then unless i'm misunderstanding

Thanks for your quick thoughts on the pedal system. I received my X model the other day and haven’t really been able to ride it much due to the rain. I might actually pick it up and have it available for when I use it on hard trails for bikes and throw the pegs on for off road riding. I know it isn’t a quick swap, but it would be nice to be able too.

Some have added a fake (read non functional) pedal kit to the Sur-Ron so it looks more like a bike. With the pedals it can pass as an e-bike is the thinking. They can also be registered as a legal mo-ped. Thanks for the post.

yes the pedal system is behind the middle half, by like 6 inches or more. based on basic mountain bike charts etc. this is so far out its comical. the pedals were never designed to be on the Sur-Ron. its a Electric motoped not a electric mountain bike. people who cant see it that way are blind to the truth

BikeStuff actually completed the project yesterday and moved the seat back 5.5” from original position. No modification to the bike. Simply put, I used a strip of metal, bolted in factory points, then bolts the seat to that. Makes it a MUCH better riding position with the pedal kit.

Is your raised handle bar also 3" higher than the standard one?
