This is the off road model as it’s going faster than 15.5mph , so how can it be road legal ? Only asking as I have the same and I don’t want shit off of old bill lol , thanks 😊
There are two versions, the road legal one has lights, indicators and a number plate holder and is registered as a moped. Max speed on thd road 28mph officer. Obviously you also need a licence and insurance. The off road version isnt legal on the road.
Very Muddy and very wet I've ridden mine down a river ! Range depends on how hard you ride it, I ride my flat out and probably average 35 miles off road. In Eco mode max 28mph I've seen 45 miles.
Seriously, i mean like I don’t mean to be disrespectful to the guy, but that’s not steep, he has next to no control, and I could get my mountain bike up their quicker than he took the sur. That tyre is based upon a classic trials tyre’ and is NOT at all suitable for what is is doing - not one bit!! He really hasn’t got the first clue. All he needed to do with the other tyres was let the pressure down, maybe fit a bead lock or two and learn how to ride properly. He could learn a lot from watching some RUclips videos.
I must average about 35 miles with it being winter -1c this morning. I keep meaning to do a test of how far it goes flat out on the road, I'd guess about 25 miles?
Thanks for the review and taking us along for the ride.
Impressive trail runner! Love the countryside you ride in ;-)
It's not all down to the tyre it's more to do with your throttle control, braking control and weight distribution.
Wider back tyre would help too.
Vita Cola you could because they wouldn't make a tyre which would be that wide to touch the frame
Throttle control is easy, just pin it!!!!!!!
Thanks for this test
I’m thinking about buying them
Cst look better on the bike but they die on normal road pretty quick
I’m running Michelin Starcross soft on the back and the same medium tire on the front, very big improvement compared to the standard CST tires.
What size did you purchase for your Sur Ron mate?

What headlight is that on your bike
If you have at look at my night time videos you'll see its not brilliant, at best adequate and there is no main beam.
How could CST who is more offroad type do not come here ????
did you have to buy new tubes for these or does stock work?
New to surrons do you have links to the correct tyres I'm unsure of sizes. Link would be nice sir x
Unusually the Sur Ron has the same size tyres front and back 3.00 x 19.
If you look back in the early comments you should find where I bought them?
Great tire review. Are the euro version Surron speed restricted? Slower than us version? Thanks
No it has a road legal restriction to 28mph but in off road mode will do 49mph

Hi fbody!
Regards from Germany.
Ordered my surron yesterday.
The plan is to istall mx tires.
DO YOU USE RIM LOCKS?
My idea is to do it!
No rim locks. and I'm running the tyres at a low 8psi for grip, but I've never had an tyre slip issues.
Thank you for replying. I'm surprised!
But I'll follow your advice and try it without.
We will see. I'll send you a note. Bye Michael
Cool
You can cut the speed restriction off and the top speed will be 60mph
Yes but it's more than fast enough off road and more speed = less range.
@@FBody007 ^^ I find it slow unrestricted offroad
More 50mph
@@surronzak8154 indeed 28mph isn’t fast but that’s what makes it road legal as a moped. Bit 45mph is just a button push away - Off road officer

Kph?
Up hill 42mph (68kph), on the flat 46mph (74kph), down hill or with a good tail wind 48/49mph (79kph). Today I hit a max of 47mph on the road.
5:51 this tire looks less effective on this section as a CST would
Indeed but the CST are borderline lethal on the road
