I am diagnosed with ADHD, and I agree with Garnt on his feelings on driving. It takes a lot more mental focus than the average person for us to drive safely. If someone is in the car talking to me, I sometimes can't respond to them if I'm focused on maneuvering something. For longer drives, I always put on a podcast or vtuber stream to help me focus.
At the issue grant was having while driving of feeling the need to be on and not zone out, I am a local truck driver and I spend most of the time zoning out. It's an experience thing more than anything else. The more experience you have, the more you will feel comfortable and the more you will zone out, either in thoughts, music, audiobooks, etc.
about the lo-fi music thingy, i think that the perfect situation for lo-fi is when there is bad weather/ it's raining. because it is just really soothing for me.
I used to have a lot of driving anxiety and getting a car with Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) has helped immensely. I had a lot of worry about drifting out of my lane and it kept me way too hyper attentive, but with driving assistants I can be confident I'm centered in the lane and keeping at the same distance from the guy in front of me. I imagine cars will keep normalizing these assistants like how every car has a backup camera now and it'll help eliminate anxiety around driving and parking.
If Garnt is ever back in the states he should try bass fishing. Bass tend to put up a good fight so when you finally do pull one in, its the best feeling ever.

I'd argue, DLC is a good excuse to replay the game. If it's good enough, then that's why you'd buy more, to replay, support the devs and to have an extended experience. You'd hope they make the best of the earnings though with the next project, but that's not a sure thing.

I think this “VR is dystopian” talk is similar to how old people thought video games would hinder most people from enjoying any other game not in a virtual space. Even though those people certainly exist, I think it’s safe to say most of society rightfully clowns on those losers who indulge in stuff like that way to much. Everything, as long as you’re not wrongfully treading on someone else’s rights, is perfectly fine in moderation.
In the past 10 years, what widely popular piece of tech or app was less addictive then it's predecessor? When we play a great game or watch a great movie, we typically say that we were immersed in it. If you're immersed in something, that means it has your full attention. And the whole point of VR is to increase immersion. It's not VR itself that's dystopian. It's techs continual march to being better at getting and keeping your attention - because that leads to more financial success (hello gacha games and tiktok) - that's dystopian.

The difference between fly fishing and regular rod/reel fishing is: In fly fishing you are using the weight of the line to cast, it allows you to use a smaller and more delicate lure, a fly. In rod/reel fishing, you use the weight of the lure or bait to cast. It is addicting, and very satisfying when you get a good 50-60 foot cast.

I have a grandparent on either side of my family who’s a doctor so I like to think that those pharmaceutical ads have no effect on me (I’m American btw). Trust your doctor people!
Im concerned with the ozempic craze, people could be potentially risking their mental health to loose a few pounds. Im sure it has its uses but i don't even want to take statins because of the side effects.
@@Imbatmn57ozempic is not dangerous for the vast majority of cases. It’s also not a couple pounds(it can be life changing loss). If you judge it at face value, it’s extremely scary. Once you research GLP-1 agonists and how they work, you realize it’s just a hunger modulator, and the side effects happen if you’re taking it as a crutch, have shitty genetics regarding aversion to the standard dosing(take less if that’s the case :) ). Besides semaglutide(the compound that is branded as Ozempic/Rybelsus/etc) is a gen 2 drug in GLP-1 agonist class of drugs. Trizapetide(the compound that is branded as Monjaro) is gen 3, and has less side effects but is more expensive. Like every other drug, newer gens will slowly lower or eliminate side effects(think blood pressure medication). Gen 4 & 5 are being developed too, so there’s that. Coming from an obese kid who’s now very “shredded” after a decade, I can tell you that most of my friends and family that use ozempic do it without the healthy habits like diet alteration and exercises. This causes them to need to take a larger dose to eat the same way they used to and still have enough hunger down-regulation to lose weight. If they ate healthier foods with less calories, more volume, more fiber, etc., they’d spend less money on the drug because they need a smaller dose, and they would experience less stomach issues from the drug(due to your body’s hunger hormones). Of course if you take the drug and now your hunger hormones are wanting you to eat half the calories that you usually do, but you still stuff yourself with the same amount, you’ll have digestive issues(like when skinny people try to bulk). That’s the extent of the side effects. It just helps you eat less, but some people use it as a crutch and get side effects. I know fitness people who use it properly with the other lifestyle alterations and have zero issues.
In the Victorian days, people used feathers as the fly, the more colorful the better, as fish were more attracted to them. Plastic ones exist today, but there is a niche group of hobbyists who collect colorful feathers from birds of paradise in papua new guinea, now being hunted to extinction because of it, raising the price of feathers. In 2009, Edwin Rist broken into a branch of the British Natural History Museum and stole a million dollars worth of bird specimens collected by Alfred Russel Wallace (the guy who independently discovered evolution at the same time as Darwin), and plucked all the colorful feathers to sell on ebay. These were traced back to him and he served a year in prison, and now plays flute covers of metal songs on youtube.
100% understand Garnts point about driving and ADHD - off my meds, driving just scares the shit out of me because if my brain just decides to blink out of focus for a second it could cause an accident
Driving anxiety is a common form of anxiety, for the reasons Garnt mentioned. So long as you can think of any scenario that could lead to a crash (heart attack, passing out due to high stress) your anxiety can mount to a panic attack.

About Discord showing what you listening. Isn't it optional? I remember you have to connect your Spotify account so the music would show as your status or something. So that means you want people to see what you're listening to. And if I remember correctly, you can also switch showing of your music as status off, without disconnecting the Spotify from Discord
My only defense of early access are cases where its in a state that is basically complete but they developer intends to add a lot of content. Like my favorite game of all time is factorio, that was in early access for years and there is a huge difference between what the game was when it went into early access and what it is now, yet at launch it was already a complete game worth the price it cost
There have been very few developers that have done Early Access right. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head is Hades/Supergiant Games and Baldur's Gate 3/Larian Studios. That being said, they did EA really well, and the games were much better on release for having done EA. As the boys said though, there are way too many scummy devs that abuse the system.
Totally agreed with Garnt on driving. It's so overwhelming to drive, especially in Thailand. It's scary that one moment you're fine, but in the blink of an eye your life can end.

10/10 would not drive unless absolutely necessary, which sucks cuz I have to do it everyday. Esp when thrs someone else that could and is willing to drive, its just so much effort for very little payoff. You need to pay attention, you have to look at the road and your mirrors, and the view you enjoy is almost exactly the view that your shotgun passenger enjoys. So yes Garnt, thr are people who get you, welcome to the passenger princess club
Certified Mexican here, Re: Fajitas: It's just a mexican bbq (carne asada) experience (or maybe any other house event): you have a BBQ, you have a table with fillings and salsas, and you have a box with tortillas. So you have to make your tacos. Fajita is only one type of marinated meat cut in the BBQ, so it makes sense that people just take what they like and make their own tacos. The only people that get their plates with their tacos already made are children. But any adult outside of restaurants (and bbq restaurants too) will make their own tacos, the same way nobody is serving you already-wrapped korean bbq wraps. Damn wait! Garnt! How could you think about peaking in food without having gone to Mexico and experienced one intangible cultural heritage of humanity?

"Do you think food has peaked?" Is probably one of the best questions ever asked in this show. Their reactions solidified it 😂.
about the lo-fi music thingy, i think that the perfect situation for lo-fi is when there is bad weather/ it's raining. because it is just really soothing for me.
I'm an American and I despise driving it is so unbelievably unfun
Bass tend to put up a good fight so when you finally do pull one in, its the best feeling ever.
you fish with bass in the states? that E string must be insane.
Hybrid bass are very strong, and are great fun to fish for. Good eating too.
@@alexamderhamiltom5238 nah man, I use the B string from a 5 string bass. Its more durable than the E string.
Garnt’s whole thing about driving while keeping track of everything and having someone just talk at you with minimal replying is so real. I’m the same way. That’s actually why j listen to Trash Taste while driving
1:27 Joey just casually hitting perfect notes.
Training military with VR goggles… as uncle Snake said, you don’t feel the threat of death playing a game you become desensitized
1:56:33 This might be the hardest I've seen Connor laugh in a TT episode 😆
When garnt said "there's nothing worse than a gacha game" I immediately get an ad break for honkai starrail 💀
I thought Cruelty Squad's fishing was brutal with like 3 frames to catch something, but it turns out it's just like real fishing
that "oooh my gawd" from joey was so accurate
I find it so funny that Garnt has to use so much mental capacity driving here in America meanwhile I'll auto pilot my way through cities/highways and not even remember how I got home 😂
I'd argue, DLC is a good excuse to replay the game. If it's good enough, then that's why you'd buy more, to replay, support the devs and to have an extended experience. You'd hope they make the best of the earnings though with the next project, but that's not a sure thing.
Garnt a true American now 🇺🇸
We truly are in the dark timeline
@@therealmckoy6772 ok commie
Daidus is doing us proud up here in Maine, repping the state with most fish caught. And bring Connor up here to ice fish, show him how it's done haha
Maine is trash 🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️
I forgot that Connor did a sleep stream
I always wonder, how do other guys manage to do sleep streams and just.. Somehow not get morning wood? How does that even happen
Ludwig once told how he cum'd himself one morning on his 30 days stream and he had to play it cool to not get banned or smth. So, totally a reasonable fear, I guess they use thick blankets?
Well I mean not everyone is the same-
@@Robyn-rd5zh That is true, yeah xP
Flossing decreases the risk of heart disease. Start flossing guys.
1:48:57 Another Garnt and Joey sharing the same brain cell moment.
@@jtom416Nah
@@jtom416 if technology becoming too good becomes humanity's downfall, we deserve it. Either way I think we should keep improving it just because its so interesting how far we can push 1s and 0s, seeing that limit outweighs the benefits of humanity's already low chance of surviving another thousand+ years
@@Section927 I agree, it's human nature to try and progress. And like anything, it's up to individuals to make good choices for themselves
garnt, i lowkey relate with you on the driving thingy. its not really anxiety but everytime i drive i have to willingly put myself into a driving zone or i feel like I'm going to mess up somehow. Music 1000% does help too..
This is low key the BEST trash taste episode ever. Amazing, twists and turns, describing fishing like a mini game. Camping stories. S tier.
Garnt is officially banned from Australia, his photo has been posted at all Customs checkpoints...
The contrast of Connor hyping up the fnaf movie vs the trailer playing and showing the silly red scary eyes for the animatronics bruh
57:00 Flossing is important! Fight through the initial bleeding phase until you're clean and then you won't have to deal with it and your teeth and gums will both feel better.

49:31 Connor is right (never thought I would say that), there is a famous quote from Thomas Watson, president of IBM, who said "I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.". He said that in 1943 when computers were main frames which were filling a whole room and were only used for complex scientific calculations, so it kinda makes sense, but it just sounds so silly from today's perspective because the use of computers has shifted so drastically^^
5:45am log - Couldn’t sleep so I’m sitting in bed listening to this while drawing in my dorm room. Classes start at 10am so in like 4 hours… Makes me feel less homesick when I watch trash taste episodes 👍
The cycling guy was cycling in the rain, was holding his umbrella downhill. OP almost got hit since cyclist could not see him because of the umbrella the cyclist was holding and as the cyclist swerved around him, the cyclist hit the post.
I can very much relate to Garnt when it comes to driving, I don't really enjoy it because I always feel a bit anxious about the "what ifs." When it comes to driving in my city it's fine because I know where everything is but once I get outside my city, I get a bit nervous and especially if I have to drive long distances.
Regarding the Persona conversation around 1:40:00 -ish, Joey needs to see the trailer for Re:Fantazio that just got a public gameplay trailer. it's very close to what I'd consider the next Persona project. I know it's not 1:1 but it's been a longtime running for the development and it looks fucking GORGEOUS
DEAR EDITORS: Thanks for keeping the background music low this episode, most of the previous episodes this past where were difficult to listen to with the outro music blaring so loud the ENTIRE episode, START to FINISH, feeling like they were trying to end the episode.
THANK YOU!!! I ALSO HATE DRIVING!!! If I mess up even the slightest bit EVERYTHING IS FUCKED
I don't know at what point it started but I really like the little trash taste info pop ups. Learn something new every week
I'm high AF hearing Garnt explain how to do flyfishing... I don't understand shit 🤣
Ight cuz I haven't seen a comment about it yet, your gums should not bleed when they are flossed, that (from what I understand) usually means you haven't been flossing enough.
Joey on Invincible: These memes have intrigued me, and you boys have been saying how good it was, so I'll give it a watch.
Also Joey, when the boys ask him to watch Arcane or Breaking Bad: ....No, I don't think I will.
Garnt being a passanger princess is a mood 🧚♀️
i have to admit that this is a very good episode. the boys covered a lot of topics and had good discussions. well done boys
About Discord showing what you listening. Isn't it optional? I remember you have to connect your Spotify account so the music would show as your status or something. So that means you want people to see what you're listening to. And if I remember correctly, you can also switch showing of your music as status off, without disconnecting the Spotify from Discord
just coming to the comments to acknowledge Connor's "hooked on it" pun because he got snubbed lmao
I respect Garnts hustel of just up and leaving in the middel of a stream to have lunch. Chat can chill and chat on its own.
I agree with Garnt, driving 4 hours constantly on a straight road can make you super sleepy and distracted
1:23:55 Connor complaining about wearing glasses and now he wears blue light filter glasses is another Connor character development, love to see it.
I remember when the patreon list was like 3 rows and much bigger font. Cool to see how much it’s grown
Holy crap they recorded this one months ago....the evangelion story really dates it
Totally agreed with Garnt on driving. It's so overwhelming to drive, especially in Thailand. It's scary that one moment you're fine, but in the blink of an eye your life can end.
Listening to the dlc discussion after Baldur gate 3 is out, the most complete finished bug-free game since Elden Ring, is hilarious 😂
*Imagines the fish giving Garnt a jumpink fist/fin bumb as he releases them* "Thanks buddy this was fun lets do it again!" Like some VERY kid friendly video game.
24:56 it’s definitely not just you Garnt. I hate driving and it causes me a lot of anxiety. Especially now that I’m really vision impaired
The Love for Atlus is real, So many hours enjoyed in PS2 classics Disgaea, and Rogue Galaxy
Joey's laugh is so contagious man!
Car crashes kill way more people than plane crashes. Like, it's not even comparable.
But people fear the latter way more than the former.
It's completely normal not being a fan of driving.
Certified Mexican here, Re: Fajitas:
It's just a mexican bbq (carne asada) experience (or maybe any other house event): you have a BBQ, you have a table with fillings and salsas, and you have a box with tortillas.
God every episode I'm like Garnt just like me fr fr. The driving anxiety is insane. I'm actually terrified of going somewhere like the US where public transit is non-existent
The one that is actually fucking up in the Anno doxing story is the gas station company.
At least over here in Germany there is basically no way to tell who the card or car belongs to by looking at the receipt. The only thing that you can see are the last 4 numbers of the card.
Seeing the entire number and car registration is incredibly dangerous and very stupid for a country like Japan that has a massive problem with stalkers and dangerous fans.
