  • I bought a Vortexx Pressure Washer w/ 2 non-working pumps. One was the original AR and this was the replacement Mi-T-M. The seller said he stored it incorrectly and wanted it gone. I don't think he knew how to store/maintain/use a pressure washer properly because it was a 5 year old commercial unit with hardly any wear and he already went through 2 pumps.
In this video I trouble shoot and repair the pump.
First inspected the pump head and cleaned the unloader (didn't fix the issue)
Next replaced the high pressure seals (didn't fix the issue)
Finally replaced the check valves (fixed the pump)
The actual failure was the check vales, 2 were broken(most likely water froze and busted the plastic) and 1 had a broken piece of plastic stuck holding it open.
The high pressure seals were about $20.00 and the check valves were also about $20.00 purchased online.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks for saving me some money! Fixed the problem with mine. Tried the check valves and didn’t fix it, found this video replaced high pressure seals and back to normal! This video really helped me do that.

Thanks! This was very helpful. Bought valve and seal kits on Amazon for $49. Fixed my intermittent low pressure problem. Part#'s 70-0501(seals) and 70-0502 (valves).

Thank you very much! I have exactly this pump and was wondering what is where in the unloader. You did scare me at one point when you used the impact driver to tighten the valve caps. No. Never. Here is a rule if you do not know the torque on a pressure washer. Hand tighten with a hand tool till your wrist says no more. My teacher taught me that the first level of torque is in the fingers, then the wrist, then the elbow, then the whole arm, then the back, then the whole body. My teacher owned and self-maintained six combine harvesters, the huge machines to harvest crops.

I thought the check valves on that model Mi-MTM where metal or aluminum or cnc machined but now I know they are plastic just like the $399.00 pressure washer from Walmart,,,,thanks.

I don't know of any pumps that use aluminum valves. I've taken apart multiple CAT pumps and those too are plastic. At least when I saw plastic the cage is plastic, the actual sealing "washer" is aluminum. When I see bad valves it's either from the previous owner leaving water in the unit and it freezes/breaks the valve or the let the unit sit running/water heats up and it melts the plastic. That was one of my early videos and I'm much more equated on the pumps now. Thanks for watching.

Don't think that is working right. Pressure drop from 5000 psi to 2000 psi when you pull the trigger.

always verify problem before u take something apart,,, it could have been he was using the suds nozzle , or his go to nozzle wore out.

so I have this same pump my issue is I have great pressure and the unloader works fine adjustment-wise wise but it won't release pressure when I disengage the wand trigger..any idea what that is???

Sounds like a stuck unloader. You’d need to take it out, apart, clean and re-lube it. I’d take the entire thing apart and clean it on a wire wheel and seemed to make sure any corrosion is cleaned out then ready-lube with lithium grease

This pump was used in the MI-T-M WP-3200 pressure washer. You can find all specs, diagrams, replacement parts etc on their website
