Yep can confirm I was definitely one of them, we all just become depressed within the first year of middle school
I can also kinda confirm, i stopped being the happy kid around 5th grade because I realized I’m just getting used and some people were fake so in middle school I tried not to be super nice and it got even harder for me to open up about my feelings to anyone or to be able to trust anyone honestly
I have a few real friends so that’s good :)

Forgot my type of kid: Teacher’s child
- Since they have a parent who is also a teacher, they go to another classroom at dismissal and just sit until the other kids leave
-The other students are jealous because they get to go to the teacher’s lounge and get snacks from the vending machines
-Aside from that, all they really do is help their parents do their work or sit on school computers and do nothing actually interesting
-Sometimes considered an off-branch from the “cool kids” and let it go way over their heads, despite not even being that popular
- Pretty uninteresting students during school hours, but get embarrassed if they see their parent
-More likely to be friends with teachers than other students since they never get to hang out with anyone else after school

I definitely wasn't the most outspoken person, and it only really went to my head in my head, I never bragged about being popular and didn't even have friends until 4th grade. In middle school I really became a background kid / nerd hybrid and have stayed the same way since.

I actually had a great elementary experience with only a few of these people- mainly happy kids, we all knew each other, but separated to different schools through middle school. In high school we see each other but don’t talk. 😹 we all drift and say high to each other but another friend or two. :-)

Dude I’m only now realizing how lonely I was in elementary school. I had no friends, sure I talked to a few people left and right, but that was because they started a conversation with me. When ever we had a group project, I prayed for it to be assigned partners, or I just waited for the last few people to very awkwardly walk up to them and ask to be in a group. Life was sad for me back then. 💀

I had the potenyti become the quiet kid, but managed to avoid it. Some guys still treated me like the quiet kid(with caution). Wearing a dark sweater everyday for most of the year probably didn't help.

I remember riding the high school bus and we ended up stopped next to the middle school. Next thing I hear is “boy why do you have that big ass grin on your face” said by someone on the bus. I watched this child’s face change pure excitement and joy to pure sadness and despair. I believed I may have witnessed the last day that child was the happy kid.

I was that super energetic, happy kid in elementary, I loved school, having friends and having fun. The day I entered 5th grade, I don't remember what happened but since then I became so quiet and an introvert. My family kept saying I'm not the same anymore. Now in last year of high school and it hasn't really changed that much

One time a magnet school sent me an invitation to join there school when I was only just in kindergarten, but my parents declined it saying the schools to far away from our house. They recently just sent another invitation, I'm in fifth grade now, next year most likely sixth :). My parents said if I pass fifth grade ( but I don't understand how I could manage to flunk school🤨) that I could attend the magnet school.

I love that in elementary school, the popular kids are always someone who has some kind of mental disorder that makes them act differently, and it’s not like their trying to like them to not be mean, but it was because they were genuinely cool people to hang out with.
The happy kids disappear once you get to middle school because we end up as the depressed kids.

In elementary, I was a mix of the regular kid and smart kid. I was tired of being there and wanted to go to middle school after I realized that almost all of the students were pretty immature. Also, I didn't study for the tests and still got almost perfect scores. Wow, those days.

OK as one of the "Happy kids" I can say we did leave but I just went on to find new friends in middle/highschool and was able to identify the toxic kids cos of having all the friends in elementary.
My story: started of as happy, then quiet, then depressed/quiet, you’re more educational then an actual school, keep up your work, heck I like how you criticize everyone even me.

When my parents told my second grade teacher that I was diagnosed with ADHD she moved me to the back of the classroom so that I "Wouldn't distract other students". Probably did some other things too that I don't remember, but a few weeks later I transferred teachers upon my parent's request (this was near the beginning of the school year).
Was happy but still quiet, got less happy and lost innocence, then just got sad

@@CoasterGuy2323 In simple terms it's like a tutor program except that shit is will more likely to teach you Advance math(which is the most common subject takes in kumon) and gives a lot of homework.

I have to say I was one of those “smart kids”, my parents put me in mathnasium, kumon, and summer school and I confirm my life is now very boring.
Aishi I was one of the smart kids but I was just forced to use Khan Academy ┐(￣ヮ￣)┌ I remember I split screened it and played minecraft or texted my friends though. Honestly don't know how I got straight A's in elementary when I literally did not care

I was the happy kid from 3rd to mid 4th once mid 4th rolled up I was verbally bullied for being happy and nice, played 5 times, lost all my friends due to false rumors, and totally depressed I’d come home crying and hungry 3 out of 5 days😕 but that’s in the past and I’m fully recovered.. kinda😳 I’m kinda nervous for middle school but I’m gonna stay positive. My hormones hit in late may this year and I totally changed but I’m ok with it I just get sad really easily- lmao I just with all future 5th graders good luck🥰
