- SERIOUSLY FUNNY EP #04 - This week I chat with Arj Barker, stand up comedian and actor from the USA. Arj has gained much success throughout Australia with his slightly wacky and irreverent style of comedy. In this episode we chat with Arj about his history and the beginnings of his comedy career, his writing style and what keeps him motivated. He's also appearing in his first feature film, The Nut Farm of which he also co-wrote. We even have a slight foray into his interest of lucid dreaming and consciousness. Something we hope in a future episode to go into more deeply. Enjoy!

Arj is super kind. He was in Adelaide, South Australia, where i live. He was here for the fringe. Well, 1 day i was selling a magazine called The Big Issue. He came up to me and said i don't want to buy a magazine but i want to give u this, and he handed me a $20 note❤

My favourite Arj joke is the one about "cruelty free soap", where the soap is a sadist in a shower scene and the luffa sponge is the victim...
Always loved that bit about taking a friend to a jazz club for the first time. That was Arj in the early noughties.

Hehehehe I remember meeting Arj at the meet and greet after one of his shows. At the time I had neon orange hair. When it was my turn to get something signed, first words he'd said was that my hair looked like fire 🔥😂 such a wonderful dude. Love his stand up!

Been a fan for years and hope to meet you both one day. I played Wacken 2013 with German legends, Grave digger, played stage 3 at Nova Rock same time as Iron Maiden took stage 2. Opened for David Hasselhof stage one , shared a dressing room with Rob Zombie and watched post Hanneman Slayer side of stage with Phil Anselmo , met the guy inside Iron Maidens Eddie the head, met Sepultura in a toilet and saw Ozzy headline with Sabbath and various assorted shenanigans. Have one pair of jeans but many heavy metal tee shirts,priorities correct. When in Amsterdam I keep my bike dry when releasing bags of ice back into the waterways. Don’t forget Hey Hey it’s Saturday is now on Wednesday, Bert’s dead, 20-1 killed him. Make time for Enya, learn the flute, go on the dole, don’t be overly cynical, eat your shit and don’t be a fuckwit. There is still time to see more Iron Maiden. Peace out.
