It would make sense if each person had 2 or 3 different stances with different move sets in each stance, but they don't. Like what if Subzero had his move set right now, but if you hit L2 he had less of a zoning or keep away move set and more of a rush down move set. That would be really cool and give more variety in play styles. As of right now, its only good for invasions.
Exactly what I proposed, in another video. And I was surprised, initially, how many people suggested that stances/fighting styles make a comeback, but the more I thought about it, the more it makes sense.
There aren't enough characters who have a functional use for that button in MK1; it could have been the return of the TRAIT button from Injustice, and we see that possibility evidenced by Shang's form swap and Johnny Cage's hype meter. That it did not see more widespread implementation throughout the roster at launch has just been so disappointing....
Yeah, it's something I've talked about as well. Perhaps even turning Supers/Fatal Blows/X-Rays into these trait moves, instead of letting them all be the same super-armored, long-reaching 30%-damage attack.
It’s there cause mortal kombat used to have one. It also lets some characters use different types of inputs for their moves, like you can *never* accidentally get a shao Kahn taunt in mk11. There’s also not really anything else they’d put on the button. The last and most important reason is BM
Dedicated dash button, dedicated super button, dedicated taunt button, dedicated sidestep/dodge button, customizable macro input button - there are thousands of things you could put on the button.
@@CynicalWarlock probably yea, I was a mortal kombat guy for a long time. I honestly thought all fighting games were the same, but my friends really loved tekken and I found out exactly why. It is the only truly 3D fighter, all other games are fought on a single 2D plane but tekken makes use of the entire arena. The hitboxes are super accurate and makes sense too. Mortal kombat is all about combos but tekken is all about positioning and placement. Watch videos on tekken slomo dodging it's insane.

@@CynicalWarlock one distinction to keep in mind is that in MK the buttons are high and low punches and kicks. In tekken each of the four buttons corresponds to a limb so it's left arm, right arm and left leg, right leg
Yeah, but it leads to moves that aren't accessible otherwise without going into a stance, and that's his version of his stance. But I can see where that thought process was.
I like it because I’m left handed and like to see South Paul stance or the other side of the fighter plus sometime it’s a placebo I feel better if I do it idk how r why but if I’m losing sometimes if I switch I win

"Switch stance button is useless"
TEKKEN: Allow me to introduce myself.
It's useless in MK.

Switch Stance button is leftover from when Kharacters had a second martial art and a weapon in the 3D era...
Totally different function - there, it served a purpose.
U can press 3+4 to do it
