The game really does give you A LOT of time. Crossword puzzles are a blessing for knowledge since it doesn’t take up time, and obviously tests and classroom questions. And books are just amazing.
Haven’t played Royal but this game does give much better time then P3 or P4 ever did. Secure a route to the crown the same day and you’ll be good to do what you like
@@n64central You can't secure roots all in one day for specific palaces like Madarame and Futaba's palace, but I do make palace completion an immediate priority.
the crosswords are bullshit in the french version i am blocked at the 5th question and there's no anwsers online ( and no the translation doesn't work)
Plus, you got more time in the evening to do stuff. Even if Morgana doesn’t let you leave, you can read, watch DVDs, or other stuff at LeBlanc.
I also love the speed reading book. It's a God damn blessing
You can gains social stats without passing time. Look after your plant, do quiz in TV sometimes, do the magazines in the LeBlanc bar, ask in the information stuff in Kichijoji. Sit in the blue sofa in Shinjuku. All Saturdays in the station you can drink an special juice. In the Donut shop in Kichijoji if you examinate it, Morgana ask you a mini quiz. Obviously when you get correct questions in school. Should be more, but this is all I could see until summer

It's actually remarkably easy to max out social stats in royal, I hit max social stats in... like... september
I still can't believe the game lets player to max everything this early... And I still can't really understand whether its because of the balance changes in Royal or because of the players being more experienced in Persona 5 mechanics.
@@tikhonbatkovic A little of both. There's several more evening slots than in the original which helps. I also didn't forget to grab my free points from stuff like crosswords and juice and whatnot.
Also the speed reading book is available really really early.
@@zeiicypher6667 Yeah, I was kinda shook with the "Speed reading" book from the school library! So, that means in P5R you dont need to grind all other Jinbocho bookstore books to gain access to "Speed reading"? Does that bookstore grant player with some other useful book in the end, though?
@@tikhonbatkovic I think it still gives you speed reading if you missed it in the library, but it only takes 3 books now instead of 5
@@tikhonbatkovic The Jinbocho book store now gives you a book that increases the number of elements that inflict technical damage on mental statuses like Forget and Confuse. You have to go through 5 books, 1 for each stat, which all have 3 chapters and then the Technical book will unlock, with only 1 chapter.
These charts are SO much easier on my eyes than the ad-infested nightmare of a guide I had been using, THANK YOU.
Kindness killed me, I didn't know that the Tower confidante would give a good amount of kindness, along with Sojiro.
Plus two jobs that gives it my first playthrough of persona 5 I couldn't Max it out either did it easily in this game
i just kept cleaning leblanc's bathroom and ended up with everything maxed before September
As someone who completed the game with everything completed on the first run, I can say it is more then possible to beat the game with max stats and confidants. I did cut it close with haru, thinking she needed to be done before Xmas eve but looking back, that extra time during the third semester will make it more then possible to complete.

Then I just spent all my time playing billiard and darts, once I maxed all of that as well I spent all every day and night in the gym.
Royal makes things so much easier. Vanilla was a lot harder for me to max stats, especially since I spent a lot of time grinding in momentos instead of hanging out with more confidants
In the 1st game I managed to get full social stats and almost full confidants before the end. I needed to hang out with Haru 1 more time for 10 which i couldnt. But this game i was done with stats and confidants at the end of november. You got plenty of time. I spent most December training at the gym. Try to maximize the usage of each mementos trip. I went 2/3 time max after tutorial. Try to get most confidant quests before you go. Aim for 8+ requests total per visit.
Yeh you can but you have to use every single bit of time spend well no slacking or wasting time wich i love i love this time management aspect this social stuff is what makes me replay the game over and over

If I take a while to do Mementos requests won't Mishima's confidant take longer?
@@SpriteZero I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect it that much. Since after 1 big trip you will have done plenty of missions. From what I heard, you don't need to complete as many missions for Mishima in Royal as the original.

I maxed all of my social stats and confidants just by a hair, including the third tier persona and all baton pass rank ups. On the 24/12 date, I had fortune rank 7, devil rank 8 and star rank 9 with Futaba and Kasumi both at rank 5.

Probably everyone know this but if you want to check how close you are to leveling up your social stats you can use the restroom. Joker will mention how close you are on leveling up the stats.
Would you make a video on Mementos requests? Things like, how to trigger them, deadlines, and anything else that could be useful? It would be greatly appreciated.
I maxed out both on my first playthrough and still had the last week to spare where I basically had nothing to do but collect stuff for my shelf. Just rent movies regularly and get a shit ton of books so you'll always have something to do the nights you're stuck in Lablanc. Also make sure you finish "speed reader" as soon as it's available because it lets you read most books in one session. Honestly as long as you're doing something productive with all your free time then you shouldn't have a problem, I just focused on maxing out my confidant's and only paid attention to stats when I needed to.

Huh, that's a really interesting video. I've gotten the platinum for P5 like 2 years ago, but I didn't know about the actual values of these things. I always just assumed that 1 note = 1 point, 2 notes = 2 points and 3 notes = 3 points.
I think the point system is 1=1 so on so on in original persona 5 but in royal it's easier
I beat the original P5 100% with the full guide, and with info I knew from that, as well as abusing Chihaya to rank up faster, I beat the Royal, and got all trophies on my first try without any major errors.
Tip for the dart board.Put the center of the board either at the bottom or top of the white aiming thingy.Trust me it’s easier
If you're trying to maximize your points in a round, the bullseye isn't actually where you want to be aiming, anyway. Bullseye is 50 points, whereas you can get 60 by hitting the inner ring on the 20 section. Often overkill, but if you're playing 701 (Thanks, Akechi...), every little bit counts.
But yes, definitely put where you're aiming at either the very top or bottom of the oval. Because of the way the dot travels, this essentially doubles your time window to hit the target.
Also, hopefully most people know this already, but you can hit X to throw the dart, rather than the awkward motion control tilting. Nothing in the game tells you this, so far as I can tell, and for me, anyway, there's a vast difference in reaction time.
Question: How does Craft of Cinema interact with the movies seen in the Theaters? Is it a flat amount increase or a multiplier? Does it boost the first time gain from 5 to 7 (possibly 10?) and consecutive views from 2 to 3 (possibly 4?)? I know the book boosts DVDs from 3 to 5 points.

In my first playthrough I actually found it pretty easy to max all social stats and still ended up not finishing only 3 confidants
lol damn I didn't know about that guy in the back alley. Does the game drop a hint about him? I usually don't speak to the NPCs so much because their dialogue changes so much (which is great by the way and adds to the world) but I'm always so anxious to hang out with my confidants or level up my stats that I don't really bother speaking with them all in a routinely fashion. Does anyone know if there are any other unique encounters with NPCs that are as significant as this back alley guy? In terms of items, or anything like that? Cheers ya'll. Great video by the way.
I maxed all social stats and all the phantom thief confidants + a few extra by the end of the ship palace
Imo the most difficult stat to rank 5 is guts just because by the time you’re at rank 4 there isnt a huge amount to do for 3 guts notes

Wish I had known this before I got all the way to December. I maxed my social stats and Kasumi and Maruki but that was about it. I’m not so good with planning.

Question: When max a confidant, at the end of the vanilla run, you get a souvenier from them. What do they do?
Let you have access to their confidant abilities as soon as you unlock them in NG+.
Just to make sure - do social stats carry over into New Game +? This is my first Persona game, and I'm worried that I might have taken too long to be able get all of the confidants maxed out. But if these things carry over, I'll just stress getting them maxed and get the confidants in the next round.

The only book i have left to get is now locked until NG+ since i dont use the vending machine in the airsoft shop; no one uses since it gives so many bad items.

In royal it seems like there is alot more time cause you can do more then one action a day but to fill all social stats and confidants seem to be more of a system to do which takes the fun out of the game to do what you want to do if you don't like haru for instance you don't need to force yourself to finish her rank so I'm fine with ending the game with not maxed out everything but at least I know there's a way to do it now

Perfect, now i just need the game.
For an experienced P5 player, I managed to max out everything in one single run of Royal and only needed to fuse Sataneal and fight the NG+ optional bosses. In P5 base game, Morgana forced you to sleep nearly everyday, so gaining social states and working on confidants actually was tough then. It seemed almost impossible to max everything on a NG+ only run.
The actual differences in maxing everything between P5 and P5R is very minimal; in both instances, outside of Kasumi who is a special case, you can finish everything by November, with most done by September. Also, the amount of times Morgana tells you to go to sleep is exactly the same in both games; what is different, is on nights you return from a Palace or Mementos, that isn't a forced story trip, you can still do activities around Le Blanc. If it wasn't for the Le Blanc change, it would actually be stricter in P5R due to other changes.
The game made it a lot easier to complete confidants, which is great cuz now I have more time to do other things in the same play through.

I need help increasing all these stats in the best and quickest way possible without consuming time, or at the very least, without consuming too much time. As of the time this was posted, it is the beginning of July in the game and my Kindness, Charm, and Guts are still only at Rank 2 while Knowledge and Proficiency are at Rank 3. I really want to get the True Ending in one go, and if someone can give me a list of the best things to do to raise Social Stat Ranks as quickly as possible, that'd be great and I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!
So far all of my social stats are at level 2. I'm about to start on Kaneshiro's palace
There's 1 big issue tho: money. You either spend it to get social stats, to max out confidants, to get better equipment for everyone or to get good Personas. You can't get 2 of those at the same time.
Money is not an issue in Royal. Put you stamps in Mementos towards money and you will have more than you know what to do with.
The game does give you ample time to do both but aint nobody got time for that. I maxed out what confidants I could in my first game than focused MAINLY on social stats. Now in my NG+ Im more serious about 1 day infiltration routes and hanging with confidants as much as humanely possible
Hmm, no time for it? I guess I don't understand this sentiment given that maxing everything in one playthrough is more time efficient than doing two. Especially considering you basically have to go out of your way not to max everything in one run with how much leeway you are given. In a non-optimized run that does both you can max social stats by the end of September while being on track to max confidants in December.
In haru being sold off by that time I had 2 max stats and everything else at 4 besides kindness which is at 3 those said 4 are close to levelling up
During kamushira(?) the volleyball teacher if you study in the school library you get guts, even after you send the notice and destroy the palace? everyone says destroy palaces soon to have free time, but if im missing points i should do the notice at the last few days
What you want to do is finish palaces the bare minimum number of times necessary; the timing of when to do it isn't as important.

The game gives you lots of time with a big chunk of the game, going along with the constant “Take your time” that you see in the game pretty frequently. Nonetheless thanks you for the help

Don't worry about it. I started Iwai only around October or so. Still maxed all Social Stats by November and all Confidants by December.

@@MarioSonicDKPokeFAN Prioritize Confidants over all else. If there's an opportunity to hang out with a Confidant (that will rank them up), go for it, unless it's one of those scripted hang outs where they call you the day prior, because those don't give you the freedom to see the possibilities for the next day and decide accordingly. Try to finish Palaces in the least amount of time possible, then work on Confidants. Working on Confidants will automatically give you a few Social Stats, and whenever there aren't any Confidants that you can hang out with, either go to Mementos (if there are 3 or more targets available) or work on Social Stats. Make sure to maximize the points you get with every Confidant hang out, too (use a guide to see the best dialogue options, and take a matching-arcana Persona)
So which books give you 7 points to a stat? Am I right to assume it's all the 3 chapter books?

It's always best to finish Palaces in 1 day to maximize time.

These points have been a thing since the original version of Persona 3 when social stats were implemented into the series. Figuring them out is all about testing. Luckily, the JP community has a lot of information from the testing they've done already.
I was able to max all my stats but I did it at 12/21 so it was worthless
I been going to the public bath every Mon/Thurs as online that was the best time, but I only ever saw 2 points... but on here it is a sunday.. :( I guess royal really is a different version than what is said online.

Missed the factorized item
It’s not hard at all to max confidants and social stats, you just need to plan a little, I’m on the 2nd to last palace already, and I max out my social stats and almost done with confidants. Just play smart
Unless I'm being dumb you don't get knowledge for hanging out with moon/mishima but you get knowledge for hang out with star

I think I screwed up a bit on my Royal playthrough. I never beat the vanilla game in 2017, I got caught up in Xenoblade 2 and Breath of the Wild, I want to finish my playthrough on the definitive Persona 5, instead of returning to the old game.
I focused too much on proficiency first, because you need that to acquire Haru's confidant. I have access to Kawakami via the phone, but my guts are at 2, knowledge nearing 3 and Proficiency I think is near 4. I'm not even at Kaneshiro's appearance yet, its been 3 in game days since Madarame's confession.
if u are there u still have soooo much time, dont worry about it just go with it. haru so so late game dont bother atm. balance the stats and social, think ahead and if u need look some things up in the internet which confidant brings good things like fortune
I prefer to go about my Social Stats evenly. I don't aim to get any at Rank 4 before I have them all at Rank 3, for example.

@@LinUzumaki Yeah I got Kawakami on 6/10, I want to get my kindness up to 3 asap so I can continue with Sojiro's ranks. The best confidants of course are the non combatant characters.
@@PedroMatos482 Mine are fairly evened out. Knowledge is the easiest stat in the game to get, its kindness where you need those events that don't take up time.

Do we know if Persona 5 Scramble is gonna have the same Confidant and social stats system, I'm trying to figure this stuff out without spoiling the game until the American release comes out
I will be covering P5S soon (already beat the game). tl;dr, it's not good; you already know 80% of the story if you've played P5 since it re-hashes a lot; and there are 0 confidant/social elements in the game. In fact, the only confidants that show up besides your party members are Sojiro and Sae briefly.

Hi I have a question. When it says that “I don’t think my bond will grow stronger.” Is there anything I can do to help rank up that confidant
That means you first need to gain more affection with them.
The 2 options you have: Go to the Meiji Shrine, or visit Chihaya (After R5)
I got all stars on rank 4 my first play through and I get my rank 5 by dodging chalk lol

Discovered a nice early game tip - you can study at the diner and order a sandwich to increase your knowledge and guts at the same time.

Very possible. You can actually do everything possible except what can only be done on NG+ in one playthrough, and still have time leftover.
Hopefully I can get started on Ann Confidant, I accidentally forgot to start hers after recruiting her at the start of the game. But everytime I try seeing if shes at the mall on certain days, she not even there. Which I found it a weird so hopefully it is not a bug that happened to me...though I am going to take my time with this and not worry. If I have to do a new game plus, then I will lol. Definitely enjoying the new changes and considering I learned a lot from the original game, with handling my daily tasks and the thankful added time for evening tasks. Going to try and raise much of the confidant as possible, though hearing how they changed things around with certain ones. I definitely will have to put focus on them.
