- The Dragons of Game of thrones and House of the dragon have their own unique sounds and roars. Caraxes has a high pitch screech while Syrax has a lower tuned roar. While Drogon has a massive loud terrifying roar, VHagar has a voice that sounds kind of like a cow. Anyway here are the best roars of each dragon from both series and with a bit of a description.

@@travismaguire1349 If we are to talk about the laws of physics, it is impossible for something the size of Balerion or even Drogon to fly. These animals do not take off with a jet engine like in airplanes. That's not how wings work.

@@Alexa-pt7fv Giant black dragon whose shadow covers entire cities, can swallow a mammoth whole and has teeth as big as swords, but has a small little meow roar, I love it.

@@GreatOldOne9866 I love them all, especially Drogon's, but Vhagar's is still pretty intimidating; I heard traces of elephant and lion sounds in Vhagar's roars along with rasping sounds similar to the Vastatosaurus rex from the 2005 King Kong and higher pitched notes more akin to a night fury. If you were close enough, you'd probably feel a lot of infrasound coming out in her roar.
@@Saberrex1 oh I didn’t say her roar was bad. It does sound cool and is does suit her. But you have to admit, you can hear burping of a sort.

Drogon's roar in 100 years would probably sound the same as Balerion's.

In HOTD Vhagar is super old which kinda misleads people to think she’s old and frail but in the conquest she and Visenya quite literally fought most battles for Aegon and unleashed terror wherever they both showed up.
Those scales are so tough probably not even a ballista would penetrate.

@@jinsakai7008 It’s all due to them sizing the dragons up in GOT. I think they’re 3 years old in the book. By season 7-8 the dragons are still only 5 years old. A dragon at this age should die from a scorpion bolt. Stormcloud was around the same age and died from a scorpion bolt through the neck. But in the show they’re massive and thus makes it ridiculous that a toothpick would harm them.

She's a natural with her voice, from that of a lazy cow (🐮) to a pissed off hippo (🦛).
Just...such talent for a dragon.

All three of them had unique roars! Viserion was somewhat similar to Drogon’s, but had a different quality to it.
Once he became undead it was definitely different.
And yes, Rhaegal’s was more eagle-like rather than menacing like Drogon’s.
@@indigovinyl2445 it would make sense that Drogon had the menacing roar, since some say Drogo was reborn as Drogon and everybody knows he was the most menacing Dothraki warlord in living memory among his people.
I get the feeling we'll hear a much more terrifying roar from Vhagar when she battles Meleys.
Battle Meleys with sunfyre by his side two dragon to take her down, meleys fought more war than caraxes mean that meleys could win against vhagar :)

I think that each roar fits the dragon, it's character and what it represents. Drogon is masculine and powerful "I'm The Alpha Dragon, The Black Dread reincarnated", Meleys sounds majestic, Vhagar ancient and powerful, Caraxes - my favourite in HotD nasty, fits The Red Worm and the nasty behaviour she was known for
Caraxes is my favorite, the chirping trills are just epic.

Vhagar have the best sound effect i think just the part where she burned Laena you could feel how she felt just by sounds,every dragon have a different sound because like GRRM explained their all unique and intelligent creatures
yeah you could hear the resistance as the fire built up, and almost an old creaking noise as her jaws opened
@@kylelee5966 Dragons truly love their riders,for her to do that it must has been so traumatic im sure she could probably let herself starve to death like dog do sometimes when their owners die. I think in a way even if it was for the worse in the end but im sure Aemond saved Vhagar and made her happy for her last fear years in Westeros

Vhagar’s roar when killing Arrax and Lucerys was a surprise given that she came off as pretty uninterested about everything. As you said she looked so lazy it sounded like mooing but the last roar was chilling. She was angry and sounded like it.
And Caraxes... I’ve come to like that dragon and his roar. He’s unique in every way.

Meleys is such a beautiful creature. I love her crown and the pink scales on her wings. Her roar is my favourite, it’s long, terrifying and very haunting..
For me, Drogon have the best Roar, but Vhagar's Roar is a little creepy.
But, I really love the fact that all the dragons haven't a same shape with a unique Roar.

I like that Vhagar doesn't have to do a super impressive roar. She just IS impressive, and her deep, low utterances match her maturity. She's OLD. Very old. She has seen the most combat, the most strife, she's carried several different riders, she knows the most, is the most intelligent, and the most ferocious. She has no need to put on any airs to terrify anyone in her presence.

Caraxes is fucking terrifying. His roar is like a bellow, yet high pitched, and his look is so shady and menacing. He looks menacing, they nailed the emotion of caraces.

@@asunayuuki5369 Which book states this? In "Blood and Fire"- even though he's nicknamed the Blood Wyrm- he looks normal in the artwork provided.
@@MehIgotnothing the showrunners stated that he is a runt. His lengths is a deformity, which is why he was given leg sails to compensate for his unusually long and slender body and allow him to fly.

@@MehIgotnothing hbo said he has a mutation. In the books, he got his nickname from his looks that are not like the others dragons. While each dragons is already different by colors, scales, etc, he seems to be even more different from the other. Idk if it is cannon or not, but I've read somewhere that his egg were also in a different shape.

Caraxes has a deviated septum that leads to his distinct roar. Caraxes is my favorite dragon in all of GOT/HOTD. I love his design, ferocity and his uncanny connection with his rider Prince Daemon. They are a perfect match.

I would like to see more base in a lot of the dragons as some of them are too screechy a like the screeches but they should all have a powerful lion-like roar to show their strength and power in pivotal scenes
It so surprising to see that Dragons are diverse. Imagine Valyria in it's peak, all the unique dragons every color combinations horns and stuff.
