Interestingly, I have almost the same feelings on this shoe. Our NB rep gave me a pair to test right when v13 launched and my initial thought was "OMG this is SO Soft" but when I tried to log runs longer than about 8 or so miles in it, the squishyness just overtook the entire experience and the shoe lacked energetic character as a result. It's intensely comfortable tho like you said, and I find I use it more as a lifestyle shoe than a running shoe.
Thanks for the video! I've always ran in New Balance (not a serious runner) and currently am using these and 880s for pretty much everything. I just bought some Hoka Cielo Road's for some faster work though. I was going to get some Pacers but they were sold out. I am looking forward to seeing how Hoka shoes perform.
Could the 880’s potentially be better for long distance? Currently have clifton 9 and would like to add either the 880 or 1080 to the rotation. Seeing alot of comments about the foam being a bit much in the 1080

I purchased these today. I tried on dozens of pairs of shoes...only these felt good. Hopefully they last. 🤞
In the next version the 1080's will offer earplugs just for you!
