I’ve worn my NB530 for over two years now… still perfect without holes and rips though 😅 +been working out (weightlifting/cardio) with them and walking.
Trendy!? I've been looking everywhere for this style of retro runners and they are so hard to find! I previously had a pair of Reebok Pheehan, similar to these, and they were fantastic for a few years. All running shoes today look like from outer space, plain ugly!
It is not over priced, you over paid because of the hype. There is a difference between the two. Since you were using it for running, you could have gotten an Ultraboost for the price you paid for it.
Ultraboost.. get some nike pegasus Also, this is a retro runner. NB has cutting edge technology for their actual running shoes, not their retro lifestyle shoes.
I’ve had mine since June last year and I’m really happy with them so far. I wore mine almost daily since getting them minus the winter months when I only wore them for gym class. Now that it’s getting warmer I’ve been wearing them daily again and I have no regrets. They’re a little dirty because they’re white, but apart from that they look and feel the same as when I first got them and I’m yet to notice any issues with the quality.
As a foot doctor, I dont recommend the 530s. Theyre definitely not suitable for running. They're okay-ish for walking but even then I wouldn't recommend these for long term walks. They don't have much support at all and definitely not suitable for anyone with forefoot pain. The 530s are better suited for casual shoes to wear if you're heading out for coffee, groceries and back home.
I started running a few weeks ago and these were the shoes I had been using for HIIT and other cardio stuff. They were super comfortable for that and walking. But the first run I went on with them completely destroyed my knees and shins. I couldn't walk properly for a week. I bought them directly from the New Balance site so they're definitely not fake just absolutely NOT for running! Feel so much better in some Asics.
A friend just shared this shoe with me. Never heard of them. However, NB 860s have been my shoe for years and ran a marathon them too. Its a stability shoe, which I need, and the best shoe Ive had. No other shoe satisfies me. Just post marathon, my foot was more sensitive to the arch support, so swapped out for Dr. Scholls tricomfott insoles. Works for me. Happy shoe shopping.
For the price of $130 for sneakers they better last for at least 5 years. My Nikes were $70 back in 2014 and managed to convince my dad to get them and wore them until 2021 when I graduated college. I was about to buy these since my adidas weren’t doing the job after 2 years but thanks for saving me the headache.
I just got mine and I want to ask something. Can you see the glue on the front and the sides ? Because mine seems to have glue and I don't know if that's how it supposed to be or not.
Exactly same experience. After wearling them very little for 5 months (I swear they look super new), the net opened on the sides. I was shocked! Such bad quality for such expensive shoes... I was questioning if I was the only one to have this experience and why reviews don't say anything about it
As a skater/freerunner, the 1010's, 1550's, 808's, and 550's are the best for all round activities. They also just look aesthetically appealing and preform better than the rest of the shoes.

Invest yourself in a pair of high end running shoes. For NB, you could’ve gotten RC Elite v2, SC trainer, or Rebel v3. For Nike, Vaporfly or Alpahfly, or invisible run. They’re true running shoes. What you have is retro lifestyle sportswear.
When these shoes came out, the only people who worn them were senior citizen grannies and these has been always a senior citizen granny shoes only until a few years ago. NB530 contain no leather, and in my opinion, New Balance specializes in shoes made out of slightly fuzzy to slight smooth suede. The best New Balance shoe I have ever worn was also my first pair of New Balance, the 990 v2 which I purchased in 1998 for $150 Canadian dollars which was on sale which I thought was a lot of money. The 990 v2 which I purchased in 1998 lasted in for 12 years until the shoes fell apart. New Balance was known for durability, comfort and understated design while being moderately priced, and I can say that the current production of New Balances aren't known for its durability and being moderately priced. My made in the USA New Balance 998 front mesh ripped apart after wearing it for 3 years, while my New Balance 990 v2 which I bought in 1998 which I wore for 12 years didn't have a single ripped mesh on it, though the midsole collapsed after all the years.
I've always preferred modern running shoes because they have the latest tech, like Nike Pegasus, Adidas Ultraboosts, New Balance Fuelcell and etc. The 530s are more on the fashion side than for runners imo. I had a similar NB trainer to yours 9 years ago and the net ripped on the back.
Thank you for this. There’s a massive hype for new balance shoes at the moment but I’ve seen multiple reviews about the poor quality! Such a shame because they’re so cute. Will stick with Nike!
THESE SHOES ARE NOT MADE FOR RUNNING! Jesus… and the holes on the top of the net is easy to describe: you bought these shoes way to small that the big toe rubs from the inside… sooooo Many people buy their shoes way too small.

Other than then getting dirty easily because they are white they are very good trainers I love mine and they are comfortable ☺️ it’s bizarre that you manage to rip the netting and the inside of the shoe without 5 months. Same thing happened to me regards the inside back above the heel with 2 pairs of these. The fabric wore down.after a couple of months and this hard plastic thing pops out and stabs causing pain!
