- State law says if a doctor believes a patient is a risk to himself or the public, that patient can be held involuntarily up to three days. WBZ-TV's Lauren Leamanczyk reports.
Just got out of a 5150 , a living nightmare
I don't blame you
I've been there and it's a total nightmare
Ridiculous in this country,All about the money this medical system and laws perfectly fit,
Unless you're held for a crime, you should not be held anywhere for any reason at all.
This is not true
I’ve been placed on many ita ( involuntarily treatment holds) and let go bc the drs where I live don’t listen to police officers and the mental health services people ( DMHP) who evaluate those who need hospitalization..
this is why I stopped asking for help years ago BC the Mental Health System is fucked and not worth it.
I don't believe in help. This system is definitely the one in need of help
Ive got take in as a 5150 baby on a socal with draw.
Cecilia Perez Very sorry to hear that. There is hope with Christ.
Ther fucking crazzy.
Apparently you have not been to my town.. my local hospital doesn't follow the law.. they will let people leave who have been placed under a Involuntary Hold.. even after they have even tried to kill themselves.. Good Old Wa State!
Happen in Australia
I'm honestly jealous. In about 99.99% of mental hospitals they will hold patients involuntarily against their will for too long. You should be able to leave when you want no matter what.
