I am a country person ..our town is so quiet of a night...having said that..l can sleep through that noise..in fact l do not care about noise.....please take care
FYI: BTD ( Boston Transportation Department) works all night. They ticket all night long , I see them in that area all the time. That goes for all Boston areas. they drive white cars with the red BTD logo and travel in pairs.
It has been quite cold in MA lately. My van is pretty bare bones. I have a electrically heated bed, which I used a lot when it started getting colder in November, but I don't use it as much lately. I also had a Big Buddy heater but rarely use it since my van doesn't have the best ventilation. I basically use a zero degree mummy sleeping bag with a liner tucked inside a big warmer weather sleeping bag. I've been toasty no matter what the temp is so far.
What a city boy you are! Me too. This would be a great angle for your show. No van lifer explores big cities. A van lifer did one for NYC and it took her three attempts for one show. If anyone can explore cities in a van, you can. It would be amazing! You can name it "the big city tour". Oh the great things you would see and share! Can’t wait for 7K! Peace.
I live within hearing distance of the interstate and agree that it mostly sounds like the ocean. The only exception is very loud motorcycles, I hate those. Thanks for sharing.
I’m not a full timer like you, but I just took my van and my two pups from long island NY to Nashville TN for 4 weeks to visit my daughter, it was a wonderful trip, but I left Nashville on Sunday and ran into that snow/ice storm on Monday, I drove for a couple of hours but it was silly to risk our lives so I just spent the rest of Monday and early Tuesday at a Cracker Barrel restaurant parking area. It wasn’t bad but the cold was brutal the rest of the trip home, I burned through a lot of propane keeping us warm.
I'm a photographer/writer to. I love doing micro photography. I also love going up to the White Mountains. I miss my film SLR. All i have is my android. Love your photography.
Heated floor. Nice!!! I didnt hear you mention electric blanket. I have one that I use like a sleeping bag. I keep it on like 2 or 3 out of 10 when camping and it is great. I grew up on rt 135 so road noise would slow down at nite but then when traffic started again in the morning it was tough to sleep thru. My white noise machine is a fan. Its on every nite no matter where i am. Even hotels. Sleep well 👍
Had The Cars on the radio at some point... wears a Ministry hoodie from their first album. I'm getting a vibe that this guy loves his 80s New Wave and industrial and synthpop.
Probably not an issue but I wouldn't be giving out your location. I'm a native and knew exactly where you were before you announced it but you don't want to give it to some ne'er-do-wells.
Hi Matt. So, I feel bad u are sleeping in cold van. I had a couple thoughts.I saw this sleeping bag at target. TETON Sports Celsius 0 Degree Sleeping Bag , it $85. looks warm.. Also how about an electric blanket? Also wear a wool hat when sleeping. Also dont know if u could find in the wild an outdoor plug somewhere, that you could plug into, like a space heater of some sort. Sometimes you see them randomly on outside of buildings, ? Walmart? Anyway, hope u are staying warm somehow. Yes, It is warmer in Eastern Mass vs Western Mass, and cooler in the summer. Take care. btw, Whats goin on with the new job thing??
Loved the ending video of the morning commute and sunrise. Thanks for adding that!
"All this beautiful noise...". How lovely.

Very cold the last few days especially. I’m close to Boston and a future van lifer.

Ya bro I love city street noise at bedtime!! City boy at heart.
I also like the sound of road noise when I sleep. I got used to it from living in a bus as a kid.

You ever stay in any of the suburbs around Boston? Favorites? Cities you avoid?

The Jeep's ticket might be an old one that he's put on himself so that he doesn't get a new one. 😉
Yeah, I used to do that in Boston when I lived there back in the 90's. Also to cover up a past due inspection sticker.
I noticed that in the back of your van your countertops are checker boards!! Do you still have the pieces and do you ever play with friends!?
Why obstruct a fire hydrant?
Have you tried that planet fitness over by the McDonald’s?
Dude are you a Castlevania fan too???
