    1. Don’t ride solo
    2. Know the area you ride
    3. Know your skill level
    4. Just because you can afford it doesn’t mean you should drive it
    Good Vid!!!

    Love Winchester bay dunes I grew up 50 miler inland and went there every weekend. My brother and I helped cut the first trail down for banshee hill before it went all the way to the bottom .

    You guys are awesome for helping this guy out. looks like the rear might have been aired down but the fronts still looked hard. That might have helped or one of you guys getting in it and getting the Job done lol. sand was soft that week for sure.

    Many places get called scrap iron after you go in can't come out ! In the early days it was up the last finger to over Clear lake view !
    Sand can win against any tire and any horsepower at any time !
    Winter sand summer sand
    Hard pack soft spots right after rain a lot of air IN the sand !
    Razer backs 🤔😁one of my favorites .
    You helping these folks 👍 good to see it is what you do still today ! Many rescues and some NOT so pretty !

    Several people are saying, “way too much paddle.” Not! He has an awesome set of STU’s front and back on beadlock wheels. He probably got them from the same guy in Oregon City that I got my set. Did you notice how the #1 paddles are cut leaving just the center portion with the #2 paddles full width? Extends paddle life and smooths out parking lot pavement running. This is Oregon sand. Totally different than California sand or desert sand. His problem was he went somewhere that a SxS should never go! First thing I would have tried is dropping the air pressure to like 2 psi, or until the tires were about to bottom out on the rims. I run my rears at 5 psi all the time at Winchester. If that didn’t work I would start hiking back to camp to get help. Winchester Bay is not that big. Sitting out there for 5 hours is stupid.

      Thank you for the comment! Also, these were older folks and walking would be very tough for them, I am glad we noticed them and helped them get out of this situation. 👍

    Nah it’s the paddles if you had thicker ones and less it would’ve climbed instead up dug

  • @nickmitchell2961
    @nickmitchell2961 4 года назад +4

    WAYYY to much paddle, he was only digging in and not floating enough on the sand, I'd go down another 3-4 paddles on the rear and air down more to get more float instead of dig

      Also if he had true beadlocks he should have aired down to pretty much nothing and tried it
