I'm going to buy one. I was just killing myself pounding wedges trying to lift a big cottonwood. I love wedging trees but this one sat back so hard...I was swinging an axe for 20 min trying to get it to come forward. This jack would have helped me at least sink the wedges in easier.

Those wedging battles will really take the wind out of a guy! You are going to really like having a good Tree Jack. It is well worth the money. They lift an amazing amount of weight without much effort.

I’ve been jacking a lot of timber with top heavy timbers borntrager 53 ton jack. It gets beat around and used by a bunch of different cutters. It’s a stout jack for sure! I’m definitely going to buy one as soon as I can!

Hi Jake! Yes...I definitely think you will really like having one of these. It's a fair amount of money to pay out in one chunk...but it sure makes the job easier ( always nice to know you wont need to get stuck in a wedging battle)

I think my jacked shipped for free or maybe it was no tax being out of Oregon. Stellar packing, they were great on the phone, and I got a free tee shirt which randomly enough I am wearing right at this very moment.

Dan, so what's the smallest diameter tree you would jack? Thanks for the video and stay safe.

Any tree big enough so that the Jack can fit fully under the back cut and is in the "Jackable " range of back lean is a good candidate. I normally get the Jack out when I assess a tree to be in the "Hard Wedger" category. That way I save myself from pounding my butt off and burning up to much energy on one tree. I have more detailed instructions on these situations on my locals channel. Theres more about that in the description section of a lot of my more recent videos. feel free to check that out if your interested. Thanks..

@norcaltimberfaller1943 thanks, I'll do that. Although with a " big' tree for us being 36" diameter and 100 feet high, I'm not sure I'll be buying one of those nice jacks!

    DAN HAVE YOU
EVER PLACED A WEDGE ON TOP OF JACK PRIOR TO LIFTING FOR EXTRA IF NEEDED ?

I have never tried a wedge...because I figure it could shoot out with the pressure. The plastic against the aluminum. Instead...I just cut a slice off a stump and that always seems to work well if I need to fix a Jack Seat that is to sloppy. Then leave room off to the side of the jack for wedging if its a hard lifting Jack Tree
