Hello Dan. I cut in California in the 2000’s for a couple of different outfits, cut in Oregon mostly lived in a jayco and my biggest worry was whether to stop at human bean or Dutch bros for my drive to the woods coffee. I miss those days and your videos are something I really look forward too! You should have 100,000 subs in my opinion you don’t yell and cuss and you are an excellent faller very precise, you rarely lose a tree or bust those brittle redwoods. I’m appreciative that you take the time to take edit and post a video Thank You!
Thanks! Im glad you like the videos, 100,000 subs sounds great! Maybe someday...but no matter what....I like hearing from guys like you...it let's me know the videos are appreciated...and that's what makes it worthwhile. I enjoy having such a good group of guys ( and a few gals) who are loyal subscribers and so supportive of the channel. Thanks!
Currently going through a somewhat similar situation. Got hired last week at the sawmil and got my first two days on the job behind me hauling logs around with a 20 ton loader. Feels like driving a monster truck. Though the responsibility i have is having it's effect on me. The constant state of alertness i have of checking my surroundings is draining my energy. One little mistake and breaking something can shut down the whole production process. Obviously been feeling a little anxious about my first full work week starting this monday. I know that in due time i create experience and have things flow more smoothly. But for now it remains a very difficult thing for me.
I was a logger most of my life till the timber market fell apart around here,I'm in the south we had some good years and bad as well seems like everytime we thought we was gonna get ahead something would happen,it was just me and my logging partner,we drug logs with tractors or mules when I was younger and had a old 50s moldel log truck,we loaded with a bigstick loader when it worked and when it was tore up then cant hooks and skid poles is how we loaded it was hard work but we scraped by,we sure never got rich we was trying to save up to buy a old used timberjack cable skidder but my worker passed away at home from bleeding ulcers and I worked by myself after that as much as I could till I had to give it up because the market went away here,I then went to work for a tree climber and cut for him and climbed for him
Thanks for sharing....I can certainly relate with the blood , sweat, and tears aspect of all that. i will share some of my own stories with you going forward...but for know...Thanks a lot for sharing...enjoyed hearing the logging adventures!
What happened to liberty, freedom and the pursuit of happiness? Politicians, who were voted in by ignorant people. In my state, if you make more than $3,000, you have to pay for a business license. If you make more than $5,000, you have to upgrade the license, and if you make more than $10,000, you have to upgrade again and have $1,000,000 business insurance. Be aware of what your local, state and federal politicians are doing. Vote accordingly. Policies, rules and regulations can be changed if you are willing to investigate and vote for politicians who remember and miss the freedom We The People used to have. Just thought I’d throw that out there. Thank you for all you do.
Thanks for commenting....and as far as Land of the Free? and Home of the Brave? I really dont know what happened! All I know is we need to start turning back towards the vision the founding fathers had for this country. I hope and pray this happens....but so far....this country is like the Titanic going full speed ahead straight at the iceberg!
I have heard that California is talking about going to electric chainsaws??? If this is true how are loggers supposed to accomplish anything on job site. You can't haul and monitor a generator for the sawyers to charge a bank of batteries for saws!
Yes...I hear all sorts of talk about this...but so far...no official mandate has been handed down from on high by the Emperor of California( Emperor Gavin) ...so for now.. .I ignore the chatter...
